Don’t discount the fact that of TN’s 13 on scholarship, only 2 have more than a season and a half of experience at TN. This COVID disrupted season should be easier to maneuver for teams that have the majority of their rosters filled with upperclassman. We have 4 and two of those are in their first season playing at TN.

So back to the Covid excuse. I guess we are the only team going through that this year. The Springer injury excuse ran out I guess. Why not just admit we aren't playing good basketball and leave it at that. Hey, sometimes you just have to find a way to win and move on. We at least did that.

Read it before lecturing. It’s not a “COVID excuse”.

This is a game where Tennessee played with intensity, but just didn't shoot well. They answered the question of how you win when shooting poorly: play hard for 40 minutes and limit your mistakes. Also, Howland mentioned that his team played their best defense of the year last night. Everyone is giving us their maximum effort each game.

I bet that Howland was pissed about the probable missed shot clock violation. But the SEC Network is horrible. It was only replayed once or twice and from just one angle. They never even replayed if it brushed the rim or not.

I noticed that, too. Take away those 2 points and we win by one. Either way, missed calls happen throughout the course of a game. We may have gotten a good break there, but we've also gotten some horrible breaks in THE TOURNEY as well: against Michigan on the Stokes call and Purdue on the Turner phantom foul.
