This is huge problem south of the border and a terrible thing for a person to suffer.

Does anyone think the newly elected president in mexico will help reunite people with lost loved ones?

What policies should the us pursue to foster a government in mexico that's less influenced by organized crime?

No.

Grow and manufacture our own drugs and decriminalize them.

Would citizens be forced to get a "cocaine card" or "heroin card?"

Legalize, not decriminalize.

Actually there is a big difference. A lot of states have decriminalized pot but those in the business are still excluded from the banking system and (I believe) obtaining insurance. Legalize and they could operate like any other business entity.
De regulate insurance and banking???

Dude! WTF!

Soon after, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador played a government-produced video at his daily press briefing, accusing searchers like Flores of morbidity and claimed they were suffering from “a delirium of necrophilia.”

It's challenging not to root for assassins.

No, you don't become President in Mexico without support of the narco gangs. Who do you think is ultimately responsible for "losing" those lost loved ones?

Take the illegal drug market away from the cartels. The economy in Mexico would collapse but would be a necessary concession for long term peace and prosperity.

Or......... We could just annex from the Panama Canal North. Annexing is all the range in Europe right now.

Do we have to take it all though?

Can we just annex the small strips on the east and west adjacent to the oceans all the way to the Canal?

What makes you think their economy would collapse?

So you think that legalize drugs in America will hurt mexican cartels?
