This team is just missing too many prices to be successful. Losing the ASU transfer was huge, because Fulky just isn’t going to cut it down low.

But what is most glaring is the lack of consistent scorers on this roster. Bowden is struggling mightily. Turner popped smoke. JJJ looks like a freshman. Gaines weighs 12 pounds.

It is what it is. It’s going to be a year of frustration, but hopefully of development and progress towards next year when some of these 5 stars show up.

Zero inside presence is the key. Teams can extend defensively without any consequences. Turns a guy like Bowden from a decent offensive player to nothing.

We were all lead astray by our own optimism that Turner and Bowden could lead this team. We were wrong on both fronts and there are no answers. I was concerned when Bone and Williams went pro then we lost Walker and Burns down low. The Plasvic issue on makes it worse.

There was plenty of reason for optimism. Only the issue with Bowden was under our control. The Plavic issue is a travesty.

Without Plavsic in there to shore up the post, we're screwed for this season.

*ncaa HQ being located in Indianapolis makes it that much sweeter that the Vols whacked Indiana on the football field.

Is not this what coaches that get paid over $4MM a year, and take other jobs (UCLA) are suppose to anticipate and recruit to?

Asking for a friend....

Things are clearing up now. Obvious that the great guard play last season came from the strong inside presence, was afraid of that. I thought they would be the face of the team this season but one went down and the other is not threat one on one. I don't know what the strength of this team is at this point. Glad to see the new guy hit the floor running.

Pretty much summed up this year IMO.

Glad VS is getting plenty of PT. Another off season for Pons to develop their offensive games. Full off-season development for JJJ, Gaines, and DP. 3 incoming studs plus Plavsic and the UO xfer. Next year will look totally different.

Of course, the loss of Bowden (who has disappeared for 2-3 weeks now) and probably Johnson to the bench or the portal will be there. But, Jordan is giving us nothing in our last 4 real games, so this is probably our starting point anyway. Johnson won't find the court next year if he's here.

Rick Barnes is going nowhere anytime soon unless he leaves on his on or retires. This was always going to be a rebuilding year but with other losses it has made it that much more difficult

And supposedly he gained 15 lbs since high school so he was like an embryo when he arrived

Thus he may be a disappointment but a lot to overcome. Look at UNC- all 5* players but a 8-6 record. Barnes will develop some of these kids. Plus Fulkerson and others won’t have to do as much next year w the incoming talent.

It may be a challenge this season to get 500 SEC play
