Been kinda following this story since it broke a month or so ago and like everyone else knew how it would likely turn out. Sad

The body of missing college student Mollie Tibbetts was found Tuesday, two sources told Fox News, bringing an end to an intensive search that lasted more than a month and captured national headlines.

A law enforcement source told Fox News the body was found in Iowa, but more specific details about the location were not released.

Tibbetts, a 20-year-old University of Iowa student, was reported missing in mid-July after she failed to respond to messages from her boyfriend, Dalton Jack. She was last seen jogging around Brooklyn, Iowa around 7:30 p.m. on July 18.

Tibbetts' family pleaded for her safe return and had remained hopeful Tibbetts would be found alive. Her father, Rob Tibbetts, returned home to the San Francisco area after spending weeks looking for his daughter.

Sad. This became a national story, but it is amazing with how much less fervor it was covered than it would have been 10-12 years ago.

I'm no social justice warrior, but "missing white woman syndrome" was a real thing. Not for reasons of racism, just reasons of ratings. A missing upper middle class/affluent, attractive, white woman (damsel in distress) is a more interesting story and more relatable to the average person than a missing poor black guy.

Imagine that

A man from Mexico living in the U.S. illegally has confessed to kidnapping college student Mollie Tibbetts while she was running in her small Iowa hometown, killing her and dumping her body in a cornfield, authorities said Tuesday.

What burns me up about this whole illegal argument is that these people coming in illegally either pay a ton for visas (that they overstay) or pay a ton to be smuggled over the border. A lot of times this is even more expensive than the legal process. I've watched my wife (a legal immigrant now US citizen) go through the process. She's worked with illegals trying to 'get legal' or scam their way in via crappy asylum loopholes.

All I'll add is that the only reason for someone to come and stay here illegally is because they know they won't cut it due to laziness or lack of effort (don't want these types anyway) or they have something to hide.

After his arrest, Rivera allegedly told investigators he approached Mollie, running behind and alongside her.

The suspect says he remembers her pulling out her phone, telling him she would call police if he did not leave her alone.

Then, Rivera claims to have "blacked out." When he awoke, Rivera alleges he was in the field where the body was eventually found.

The suspect also told investigators he had seen Mollie previously, but it is still unclear whether there was any connection between Rivera and the victim.

Mollie Tibbetts' murder: What we know about the suspect

So, there you are one random day and you see a cute college chic jogging down a trail and you just decide you're horny, she's mine, and you chase her down and attack her? Is that what goes through these peoples' heads?

According to the Texas Department of Safety:

Since June 1, 2011 Illegals have committed:

1,351 Homicides

7,156 Sexual Assaults

9,938 Weapons Charges

79,049 Assaults

18,685 Burglaries

79,900 Drug Charges

This is just Texas!!. Most of this is preventable with a stronger boarder. What other country in the world has this kind of crime committed by illegals?

Libs just might agree to deport him.

Obama deported more illegals who had committed crimes than any President before him earning the nick name The Deporter in Chief.

Those are some big scary numbers. Out of curiosity what are those stats for native born Americans? How do the percentages per capita look?

And yet, the left wants to abolish ICE. Makes tons of sense. Idiots.

You do know that ICE is less than 15 years old and is completely different than Border Control, yes?

Also Obama used ICE pretty aggressively in his first term before reprioritizing to focus on men such as the suspect in this case (which again, he deported more than any previous President) and not arresting someone on the way to the hospital for their wife to give birth or parents as they drop kids off a school or women who go to the police about an abusive boyfriend/husband.

And no one is calling for abolishment of ICE to leave a big vacant hole in immigration enforcement. It’s really a call to replace it with something that doesn’t resort to tactics of breaking up families or targeting law abiding people. Even ICE agents have written to the dept HLS that the tactics they are currently being instructed to use are making them less effective in dealing with the real criminals. In other words the brand is damaged and even law abiding immigrants are scared to help them find the criminals.

Lastly, the Dems have offered 40 Billion in border security measures that Trump has repeatedly shot down because it doesn’t have a wall (that Mexico was supposed to pay for). He wants to keep this going because he knows it plays on the fears of his supporters.

Trumpets want say Dems play identity politics while blindly being played by Trump and his NuGOP themselves.

Sorry, I quit reading when you said an illegal alien is 'law abiding'.

When your first act in a new country is to break the law, well, *** you and your disrespect.

Exactly, law abiding would mean you are here legally, it's really funny how some try to twist this. It's very black and white. Saw where a business in Morristown had shown they had 24 people working there and ICE shows up finds 185, deported them all. It's to bad the business just got a little fine, because these are the enablers to this problem.

Never broken a law?

The belief that some magical line suddenly makes you more worthy becomes more confusing the older I get.

There's nothing magical about it, countries have had borders since their inception. If you can't respect that I don't know what to tell you.

If your only reasoning is "that's the way it's always been done" then I have no doubt the last part of your post is spot on. You want to feel entitled because you won the geographic lottery. I get that but what I respect more is someone willing to do whatever it takes to ensure their family is taken care of. That's a big enough responsibility without spending so much time looking over your shoulder because someone labeled you the Boogeyman.

So you favor a totally borderless society?

You ever left the country? Lame.
