If your only reasoning is "that's the way it's always been done" then I have no doubt the last part of your post is spot on. You want to feel entitled because you won the geographic lottery. I get that but what I respect more is someone willing to do whatever it takes to ensure their family is taken care of. That's a big enough responsibility without spending so much time looking over your shoulder because someone labeled you the Boogeyman.

I'm going to start with the end of this first, because it is laughable, so who has been labeled the boogeyman? Secondly if you do the right thing you probably don't need room look over your shoulder. I don't feel entitled those are your words, if I had my choice I would have rather been born in either New Zealand or Australia. Your little argument holds no merit here. Finally no one gets to choose their parents and that's just part of being born into this world. I suppose you would like a nice utopic or agrarian socety. No thanks, I work really hard for what I have and already give plenty to the needy.

Should be an easy death penalty but that doesn’t happen in Iowa. He will spend the rest of his life on American tax dollars for inmates.

Geographic location has nothing to do with it. It’s the culture. People are everything.

Why is the United States great and Mexico a ****hole? They’re dying to get here. No one here wants to be there. Why? You need to ponder that harsh reality.

It isn't a harsh reality, it is a simple truth.

Yes lots of people are dying to get where you were lucky enough to be born. Geographic lottery. You had nothing to do with that yet wear it like some championship medal. The thought that a mythical line somehow makes you superior and more worthy is a pretty ridiculous idea (even for you)

They could, you know, work to make their own countries better.

Why is that never an option?
You got born into a country where the work was done for you already. Don't pretend you struggled

Would you concentrate on getting your family in a better situation or try and fight the powers that be while they suffered? It's an easy choice and I honestly can't understand demonizing other humans for doing it.

My family and my culture had everything to do with it. I’ll have my kids set up nicely. So no, it’s not geographic lottery, it’s a cultural lottery. I wasn’t born into ****. I don’t care that you bury your head in the sand just because it doesn’t match your unicorns and skittles agenda.

America isn’t great just because it’s here. Mexico isn’t **** just because it’s there. It’s cultural, not geographic.

The people and culture made America great. People and culture made Mexico ****.

Since you tucked your tail between your legs last time follow and answer this - If you don’t buy that people and culture make a country, then why is the U.S. vastly superior in every way to Mexico? Why?

Very easy to make a lot of assumptions about someone you've never, and fortunately for me, will never meet.

It is and that may have been unfair. Which country are you from originally and when did you immigrate?

Well here's an idea, take yourself and your family and trade citizenships with a family from Mexico. MMGA!

Mythical line?
Why don’t you go cross that mythical line in to Mexico or hell, even Canada and see what happens to you.
Report back to us what happens when you cross that mythical line...

My wife and I have this conversation every so often. She is a legal immigrant who went through the proper channels to come to this country. What's wrong with welcoming people to this country as long as they are following the law?

I don't think there are many people against legal, merit-based immigration, so I think you're making a false equivalence.

I'm more directing my comment at people who want to offer asylum to illegal immigrants. Sorry if my post was misinterpreted

Lol at "the culture." We have a president who doesn't read and speaks almost exclusively in ad hominem attacks.

We have a mass shooting every other day and people are so damn brainwashed by the NRA that they think the solution is arming every man, octogenarian, and fetus.

Our culture is great...

We have a mass shooting every other day?

So was there one today or was there one yesterday?
