I can't bring myself to root for A&M or Mizzou in any of these SEC games. Almost like they for sure deserve a hazing period where each SEC team curb stomps the daylights out of them. Then after that, I won't have a problem rooting for Mizzou over Florida or UGA. I'd hate for inferior competition to come in and have a decent year. They each deserve Kentucky like seasons for about 3 years.![]()
"Old man football." It's time to welcome Mizzou to the SEC.
No kidding. I hope Georgia kills them. I don't know why you'd want to piss off the SEC. I can't imagine that has ever ended well for anyone.
I don't know about "old man" football, but he will learn quickly the SEC is "grown man" football.
I hope they beat Georgia, but that "old man football" is gonna have them taking Geritol by the time they travel to Knoxville.
See here's the thing I don't get here...the comment, the smack, was directed solely at UGA and their style of play, not at anyone else in the conference or at the conference as a whole...why is everyone seemingly rushing to UGA's aid here on this
Anyone else makes this comment, most people here would be laughing or (after week 1) also calling UGA overrated
You know how we would root for Georgia in their bowl game at the end of the year? How we rooted for Alabama against Michigan and for Auburn against Clemson? We always root for our fellow conference members once they are playing outside the conference.
This is the same idea. These guys are new, so no one really considers them a true part of the SEC. So when they, or anyone else, take a shot at Georgia, they're taking a shot at the conference. They just are. The SEC is a sort of brotherhood. We may fight amongst ourselves, but once someone else comes in and tries to hurt one of our own, we rush to their aid. It sounds cheesy I know, but, for me at least, that is one of the many things that sets this conference apart from the others.
Besides, he also said something along the lines of "when we're clicking, no one can touch us." And that, indisputably, IS a shot at the whole conference, albeit indirect.
