Missouri (Statistics and Odds)

Saturday's game against Missouri may arguably be the most important basketball game at UT in the past 2 years. With the soft bubble this year, many analysts are saying TN will make the NCAAT if they can beat MO, regardless if they win ANY games in the SECT.

Tough task, considering MO is playing arguably the best basketball of their season. Here are some of their statistics.

Last three games:

83 Free throw attempts to opponents 43

MO shot 70% for the game at SC in a 90-68 win. (In comparison UT shot 44% at SC in a 66-61 win).

MO shot 58% for the game vs LSU in a 89-76 win.
(In comparison UT shot 57% vs LSU in a 82-72 win).

MO shot 58% for the game vs Arky in a 93-63 win.
(In comparison UT shot 43% AT arky in a 72-60 loss).

In other words, MO is shooting lights out and appear to have peaked at the right time.

MO ranks 17th in the country in PPG - UT ranks 203rd
MO ranks 2nd in the country in RPG - UT ranks 85th
MO ranks 57th in the country in FG% - UT ranks 157th

What do you guys think are the keys to our success against them? GO VOLS!

The key: 20,000 screaming fans to show MO what up in the SEC

If I'm reading Sagarin right, the game is a toss up at TBA.

If I were a betting man, I’d take the Vols for the win on Saturday. Mizzou has shown that they cannot win on the road. Mizzou is also coming off of a very emotional win against their former coach last night. I think those two factors will play in the Vols favor.

Traditionally mizzou is very good at winning games they aren't supposed win. For that reason I hope vegas makes 'm the favorite Sat.

I'll be betting on it. I made a pretty good chunk on on the Florida Game with UT at 3.5 to one! XD

I'm don't gamble that much anymore but when that line came out I just had to get in on some of that!:dance2:
GO VOLS!

Using Sagarin's predictor, which projected a 6 point win at auburn, Missouri is only projected a 1.34 pt winner.
Surprising. Thought it would be much more.

Per a UT official, 600 tickets, mainly upper level, remain for Saturday's game between Tennessee and Missouri at Thompson-Boling Arena.

If the Vols win they are very probably in the tourney, IMO, no matter what they do in the tournament. Worst case, they have to win this game and their first tourney game--two wins would be a lock. Lunardi has us in the dance now--among last four in. Three SEC teams, fyi, are among first four out--ole miss, bama and kentucky.

HAVE to bring the defense in this game. HAVE TO PLAY DEFENSE. Mediocre defense = almost certain loss.
