Thank you all of you Southern Republicans that voted for Mike Huckabee rather than a mormon, splitting the conservative vote and allowing a septagenerian loser to be nominated to run against Obama.:banghead2:

After watching Obama's economic cast of clowns in the first three weeks of the new administration, I can only reflect on how it might how been had someone with business and fiscal acumen been at the helm.

Yea, I think some of my own family members did not vote for him cause he was mormon. He would have been a much bigger threat to obama and would be much better fixing the economy.

He was the most intelligent, qualified candidate running IMO. Had the best business background as well. I was really disappointed McCain didn't pick him as a VP. Not sure it would have swung the election though.

I always thought Romney was a serious snake when he was governor here...I'm not sure how much I really had to base that on, though....just my read...couldn't ever get over that.

Romney would have gotten fewer votes than McCain did. He was/is a stiff. His vote count in the primaries was accurate. People never warmed up to Mitt.

An Al Gore/Mitt Romney election would be the Mega-bowl of Stiff Whities.

Call it what you will, Romney's biggest problem is he wore magic underwear, whose powers are as of yet unrecognized by evangelicals.

Things that actually matter like business credentials and experience mean little.

Obama was going to win against anyone the Republicans had to offer. It was just made easier with McCain than it would have been with someone else. The bigger upset was when he beat out the Clinton machine in the primary.

OH YEAH.....he headed the "Community Organizer Team". :eek:lol:

You are absolutely right, MG. The games were in financial shambles and heading toward bankruptcy until Romney stepped in. but being a lawyer, Hat has never let facts get in the way of his demeaning a conservative Republican.

Addendum: Just as the 1984 Summer Games in Los Angeles were lessened by the Soviet boycott, they, nevertheless, were a financial sucess thanks to the leadership of Peter Ueberroth. The same with the Salt Lake Olympics thanks to Mitt.

Nice job leaving out the number of folks indicted and the generally awful reviews the management of the Games got from the participating nations.

as a lawyer, you of all people know that you can indict a ham sandwich.

every Olympiad has it's controversies and problems.

the 2002 Winter games took place on US soil less than 6 months after 9-11. There was a LOT of national pride on display and that's what participating nations didn't like.

Yea....I'd take the 100 million profit along with this anytime.
Then America should just annoint Bill Gates and Ross Perot as co-Presidents. Since the ability to show balance sheet success is the only necessary qualification, I can't wait for the Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus to grow into Republican icons.

I don't have to demean them. By getting their asses handed to them in back to back election cycles by the Harry Reids, Nancy Pelosis, and Al Frankens of the world, they've done a fine job disgracing themselves without any interference by me.

Profit is an income statement item - not a balance sheet item :hi:

Al Franken hasn't won anything yet.
The fact the GOP is in a position to need judicial intervention to avoid having an incumbent senator beaten by a buffoon like Franken speaks volumes about the condition of the party.

the condition the party is in has been caused by liberal to moderate republicans, including the former President, to paint themselves as democrat-lite.

you're right that Franken should never have been allowed to be this close, but last year was a perfect storm with the popularity of Obama, the media destruction of Sarah Palin, and the financial crisis, and ACORN.
