Those aren’t really screens they’re more like hitches behind the LOS. Actual screens are used to get the ball behind the DL with blockers ahead of the receiver without throwing the ball past the LOS. I’ve seen 2-3 of those that I can recall over the last 2 years. Evans against Florida last year and against South Carolina when Milton got in or in the Vandy game (can’t remember exactly which one it was). When I think of a WR screen I think of 2-3 OL pulling along with another WR and the QB dropping back 3-4 yards and letting the pass rush come through and then the WR going for 15-20 yards. Not a quick flip out for 2-3 yards at a time. What we do is essentially a running play/eye candy for deep crossing routes outside of the hashes. It doesn’t really serve one of the main purposes of a screen which is to slow the pass rush downWR Screen, ya know probably the most common play we run Lmao
The game has changed, if you can get a difference maker then you get him. Where would we have been if we didn't go after Bru?Why do we even need a WR we have plenty of talent waiting their turn this is why kids transfer giving a hot shot that nobody knows will even work out and the guys who stick with us stand on sideline
