Stupid comment, but if it was in the context of this being probably the worst week of officiating I've ever seen in my life, then I agree completely."How can the NFL defend it when one team is awarded the ball after a scrum and the other team comes out of there with the ball?"
Does Stuart Scott not actually watch any football? This happens all the time.
The officiating tonight was awful. But not from a this-terrible-call-changed-the-game standpoint. It just demonstrated an embarrassing overall general incompetence.
Steve Young is right though. Why should the NFL cave? Nobody's going to stop watching. And incompetent referees are like a strong wind; theoretically it should screw both teams equally.
My lord it's bad though. These poor guys have no idea what they're doing.
The occasional screwup is one thing but they are starting to lose control in some situations which absolutely will damage the quality of the product. That 1 st qtr last night took a whole hour and bordered on complete chaos a couple of times.I can honestly say I watched less football this weekend because of the refs.
I know there are bad calls in just about every game, but this weekend saw just about every crew go out and screw up some basic/procedural stuff regularly. I found myself tuning out of games to go do other stuff.
