MNF: Broncos @ Falcons

I think its safe to say the Aints or the Panthers wont be winning it, Tampa maybe?.....Nah, Falcons are gonna win it

The Panthers are a year away, I don't trust the Bucs, and the Saints lost one of the five best coaches in football for an entire year.

Looked like the Denver defensive back was trying to take a timeout right before the snap. Never a good sign haha. May be ball game.

Proof I'm a true fan.... I just grinned when the Bammer struggled for a 1st down to Just about end Peyton Manning's chances.

I've had a little trouble explaining this kind of thing to the boy. Jerry Seinfeld's adage that we root for laundry is the sad truth.

"How can the NFL defend it when one team is awarded the ball after a scrum and the other team comes out of there with the ball?"

Does Stuart Scott not actually watch any football? This happens all the time.

Stupid comment, but if it was in the context of this being probably the worst week of officiating I've ever seen in my life, then I agree completely.

Flacco had it right. It got to the point where it was damaging the integrity of the game.

The officiating tonight was awful. But not from a this-terrible-call-changed-the-game standpoint. It just demonstrated an embarrassing overall general incompetence.

Steve Young is right though. Why should the NFL cave? Nobody's going to stop watching. And incompetent referees are like a strong wind; theoretically it should screw both teams equally.

My lord it's bad though. These poor guys have no idea what they're doing.

I don't know how those officials are doing it. I worked a high school sideline for years and did a JUCO game one time and the difference in speed was shocking. I can't Imagine the difference between where these guys came from and NFL.

I can honestly say I watched less football this weekend because of the refs.

I know there are bad calls in just about every game, but this weekend saw just about every crew go out and screw up some basic/procedural stuff regularly. I found myself tuning out of games to go do other stuff.

Like Roger Goodell cares.

All he cares about is how much money he makes.

He's such a phony.

The occasional screwup is one thing but they are starting to lose control in some situations which absolutely will damage the quality of the product. That 1 st qtr last night took a whole hour and bordered on complete chaos a couple of times.

Yeah, I suppose that's what I'm kind of getting at. Normally the pace of NFL games make them easier to watch than college games, but having to wait for refs to constantly iron out calls has become a real grind. I definitely think it's within the realm of possibility to see it affect ratings in a couple months time, at least to the point where the difference will be the same as what the regular refs are asking for.
