MNF: Green Bay vs. Seattle

Agree completely - got to cough up the dough. I'm just saying I agree with the position of the NFL vis-a-vis the extra ref squads, prepping young refs to replace the geezers when necessary and a process to bench bad refs if they are really bad.

We must accept this horrible refereeing in order to ensure that there's never any merely bad refereeing.

Kornheiser stated it well today on PTI, the two sides need to get locked in a room and say "You're gonna bleed a little and I'm gonna bleed a little" and get something together.

That's always the way.

My main thing though is unlike other labor disputes where the workers cannot work they essentially bleed out and they start running out of money. A very large number of these guys have other full time jobs.

They can afford to hold out for a really good deal.

I've seen this floating around facebook, and was wondering if it is correct?

It kinda makes sense. He clearly has one hand in a position where it appears to be a catch. As far as I can tell from the rules, a one-handed catch is still a simultaneous catch. Add in that he was the first one grounded....

No matter what the right call is, my point is that it's not a black and white call like everybody seems to pretend.

When you look at the other angles where he literally throws his arm in behind Jennings', it's not possession. Jennings had possession, Tate threw his left arm in between the ball and Jennings' chest, however not dislodging the ball from Jennings' hands. Then he eventually managed to get his other arm around to touch the ball. Jennings was turned facing away from Tate (aka Tate behind him), with both hands on the ball and the ball in to his body, while Tate flailed to try and get arms near the ball. Tate never actually had possession.

Wow. McCarthy totally blew the game for gb with the ultra conservative decision making. 2 fg's in thefirst half ffromiinside the 2. The first one was from within the half yard line. Sooooooo stupid.
Reminds me of us against Florida this year. Gb was totally content with the lead they had. The offense stopped trying to score and the defense went into prevent.
