Seeing as how Ha'sean was reinstated after a quick resolution in his "short term loan" BS (which made him ineligable.. Did bammer vacate wins? No..) I would like to point out an interesting network of individuals and connect a few dots. This may have already been done, but I think it warrants another mention given the current circumstances.

Mark Emmert, president of the NCAA, has left a pile of ruins and demonstrated poor oversight at every job he has had. He has always shown poor ethical and inequitable decision making. He is also close with Saban because of their time at LSU together. Both Saban and Emmert greatly benefited from their wins at LSU during that time.

Fast forward to now: With Bama week coming up, Couch is still left in suspense about his playing chances, while Clinton-Dix has been cleared. Couch would provide play making ability and increased depth to the UT defense, something they will greatly need to be competitive.

Emmert has shown he is as crooked as a dogs hind leg after a motorcycle accident. I'm going to predict that Mo Couch gets cleared to play this year, but only after the bama game. Saban has help from above. Ever wonder why things are always quiet in bama? Emmert's your answer.

I do not claim to be a compliance rules official, and I know the amounts they took were different and there were different circumstances in each case. However, there are clearly two different sets of rules being used to govern these issues.

Watch Mo get cleared middle of next week. I realize I could be wrong and end up looking stupid, but I think it's all worth a mention.

He tweeted that he thought he would be cleared for the "last 4 games" of the season. So, Mizzou, Auburn, Vandy, and Kentucky.

Still, I don't think Bama needs Couch to be out to have a chance to win. Hell, we could bring back Hunter, CP, Rivera, and the ghost of Reggie White and still be big time underdogs.

I believe I read somewhere on here that UT was actually holding things up on Mo, not the NCAA. Maybe I am wrong?

Bama will be beat this year. Book it! It may or may not be by us but that is why they play the games.

I would take it with this staff and be confident

I agree with the OP 100%. Not only Clinton-Nix, but the text book scandal, the new suit scandal and now we learn that Saban got recruit prospect Landon Collin's girl friend a job in the AD over protest from the kid's mother. No penalties. Nada. Bruce Pearl let a kid who showed up at his door have a plate of BBQ and he gets the death sentence and our BB program is set back for several years. We can quibble about who lied, who covers up, who self reports, who shot Cock Robin, but it is obvious that the NCAA has its favorites. Now we learn that Miami's bowl ban was lifted when they committed much more serious offenses.

Good post. In my opinion, Emmert has been the "Mike Hamilton" of the NCAA. Everything he touches, turns to crap. The longer he is there, the more pathetic they look and the more likely the big schools form their own athletic association.

regardless of the outcome Sat. Bama is still not as good as they were last year. I don't even think they are the #1 team. But you give me White,CP,Bray,Hunter & Rivera and this coaching staff and the underdog roll is out the window. jmo

The ncaa has double standards and seems to be selective with enforcement of the rules. Be fair or be abolished, fire emmert, there should be no bias in a governing body. :ermm:

The problem with the NCAA is that 1) it doesn't have real, strong investigative/enforcement capabilities; and 2) partly as a result of that, its decisions and penalties are all over the map--too inconsistent from case to case and too variable.

The 2a seriously needs reorganization, including replacement of some officials.

I draw the line at the Ghost of Reggie White. Never been another baller like the minister of defense. I think people are judging this team based on the recent past of the last 2 failed coaching staffs. Unlike the sporadic, untrusting almost successes of the past, this team isn't getting lucky. This team is playing as a unit and getting better. This team actually has a foundation of strong coaching and technique work that they have been building on for months. This game will be close. UT will be competitive against UA.

UA's defense is a little stronger than USCe's, but their offense isn't as strong as USCe's. This game should be a lower scoring affair than last week's. Expect to be surprised. I'm not calling for a win, but I think we will be in a position to win until the last whistle blows.

UA is the most beatable team I've seen Saban field in the last 4 to 5 years. This is the best team UT has fielded since the team that went to SECC game. Sit back and enjoy the ride. We actually get to enjoy watching UT play "football" once again. I for one am not taking this team for granted, or the gift watching UT play solid football they have all blessed us with. This team and these coaches have worked their tails off, and I for one would like to thank them.

Nothing else has been said about any of it, which is probably what should have happened immediately after it came out. Foster owes Mo,CBJ and the VolNation an apology IMO. If he wanted to make a statement and take on some type of push to get players paid, theres other ways he could have went about it. "He got a lawyer so the University couldnt be held responsible"...BS. He took the career and possibly millions from a young man and he says he just wants to help the players...BS. "It wont hurt the University"..BS. My feeling is that Mo's time at UT is probably over, and yes he knew the rules and broke the rules and should be accountable, i get that, and i agree with that, but it didnt have to go down that way. Sad to say that Mo is being punished more for being honest, when other simply lie and cover up and move on to their Pro careers and dont have to worry about the wake they leave behind because it doesnt affect them anymore. Give the players a stipend and be done with it, but anyone that thinks that will stop cheating is crazy, but its also crazy to expect that these young men would have the willpower to say no when someone is flashing bills in their face. its gonna happen, and happens alot more than we know, but punish them, fairly and consistently and let them play when they have served their punishment. My guess here is the University cant let Mo play, there is no "official" investigation right now by the NCAA so there can be no ruling, but what if UT says "go play" and months down the road an investigation is started and UT ends up penalized for allowing him to play when they had knowledge of wrong doing? The penalty will be much harsher, and during a time when we are trying to get the program rebuilt. I dont think they can take that chance. Sorry for Mo, wish he could play, but it is what it is Im afraid.

Psshhh..... Reggie would guarantee us a win. Those OL wouldn't know what to do when he clubbed 'em upside the head and took off after McCarron. That poor kid would learn the fear of God from the Minister of Defense. Might be what he deserves for playing on Satan's team. :)

My understanding...

Clinton-Dix (Monica Lewinsky chuckles) had already made restitution before news came out. (Saban handled it, made a call to Emmert) Couch has not, doesn't have the money, and 'AA has denied him the right to make payments.
