'24 MO WR Ryan Wingo (Texas commit)

Ryan Wingo just concluded a month-long slate of official visits. This one remains hard to read but the Vols are clearly in the picture. We believe Michigan and Texas are the two biggest competitors at this point. There is likely still a long way to go in this one.
We do not expect Wingo in town for the cookout at the end of July, but Tennessee is working to get him here at some point during that open week for an on-campus visit. We believe there is a strong possibility he makes it in.

Starting to seem like the highest bidder will get him and he’s playing the long game to determine who that high bidder will be. JMO TIFWIW AARP
That's ridiculous. He has said all along that he was going to take his time and not announce a commitment to anyone until well into the Fall. You just lack patience.

Calm down, Bert

It’s a thought he put out there, nothing that deep. I’ve had the same thoughts. I don’t know how you can just say “well he always said he was going to take his time”

Maybe he is taking his time so he can see who the highest bidder is? Maybe engage with people on here instead of just trashing their thoughts/ideas

The highest bidder in most cases is the local school with the least to offer in terms of access and prestige. In this case it’s probably Mizzou. Recruits in most cases take less in NIL to go to national brands because those schools have more to offer as a whole, so the excessive NIL isn’t necessary. This is what happened w that 5* OT from Iowa that Bama signed last cycle. The kid took less money to go play at Bama. He was asked about it and said Iowa offered him more money.

The “highest bidder” angle isn’t as prevalent as many believe. Wingo isn’t going to Missouri lol. NIL is icing on the cake, it’s not the entree.

Why don't you go roll up in a little ball in the corner and cry? I'm not trashing anyone's thoughts. I'm also not worked up. I'm simply pointing out that nothing has changed with this kid. Some of you have the patience of a two year-old child.

Not crying, don’t dismiss people’s thoughts, that’s why this board is a thing.

“I didn’t trash anyone’s thoughts”

“Ridiculous” or “you must lack patience”

Wow. You're thin-skinned. It's amazing you can manage to get out of bed in the mornings.

this is a terrible idea, moran.

And how exactly does my post contradict what he’s told the media? Also, I’m not impatient because if he doesn’t pick UT then I’m confident CJH will find another receiver who will be successful in his system whether it’s a hs recruit or a portal guy.

Wingo’s a NIL recruitment. The team that signs him put together the best package. It’s not facilities, playing time, scheme fit, or the head coach being a closer. Probably better for Heup to pass on this one, because he’ll be re-recruiting Wingo in year 2 and/or 3.

We get matthews, jefferson, & keep staley, idc who the 4th is

If you are a top 10 player it makes sense to wait until late in the year. I want players to commit and start helping us recruit but it’s probably better for the recruit to be able to see What everyone offers first. They have to think about coaching, facilities, living situations, family travel and NIL. NIL would definitely be a factor but I wouldn’t just go anywhere for a little more money.

I get nil is important but if it’s all a kid is focused on then I’m good with going in another direction.

Just take Matthews and Staley and if jefferson wants in that’s cool. Outside of that - more receivers will emerge during the season and worst case scenario we take a stud in the portal, like we did with Bru and Thornton.
