mods need to take that picture of AJ off the homepage

Laws are passed for our own good because most people are too ignorant to know any better.

Obama is that you? ^^^DUMB. So instead of making my own decisions or judgments, let the government make them for me...no thanks.

Can you please inform the protesters who are still picketing on my lawn? :)

I agree with your premise, however you failed to mention any laws that are in place that protect us. I suppose you would prefer to go back to the wild west days were rape, murder and thievery were more prevalent when you factor in population numbers.

They big brother paranoid people are the same ones crying when the crap hits the fan and people want the government to do something.

Everyday that the government can't write new stupid rules is better for us. We just had over 3,000 millionaires leave cali because of the extreme over regulation. The government is too damn big to move as quick as the technological change around us. It will cause our collapse.

I'm pretty sure if you will step off of the argumentative box for a second you will see what I was trying to say. I was referencing specifically the law to make 21 the legal age to drink. At 18 a majority of people are not mature enough to handle that responsibility (heck most are not at 21 either). We have 3 perfect examples to defend my case in this thread. No one said every law is perfect or has good outcomes, but I still feel many are created for the greater good of our society.

Most laws are created to protect the pocketbooks of legislatures. I think the drinking age actually creates alcoholism because non informed kids start drinking early. If we grew up drinking booze, we'd all handle it better. Look at Europe for this one.
