Mompremier transferring from Baylor

She would be an excellent player to come in to replace Russell. This would give KK more time to develop and give Green an excellent player to help inside.

Te'a would have two more years after the 2018 season. She could leave after the 2019 season.

does NOT give you a dream lineup. A dream lineup is having 5 good players. Is KK going to be good? That's a major question. You need athleticism, regardless of size, and some skills to go with athleticism.
I dream line up has back ups...5 players can play...you need others to be competitive. If you dont know that someone will be good you need others...getting her would be a huge puzzle piece

All 4 of her schools all have interesting situations for her:

Miami is closest to home but probably has the least upside in regards to potential team success of the 4. She could be the focal point of the team though.

Florida State is a consistent top 10-20 program and she'd be closer to home and play for a fantastic coach in Semrau. Final Four seems unlikely but she could be a major contributor on this team.

Tennessee and Notre Dame both have needs in the post that she'd fill perfectly and she'd be surrounded by immensely talented guards and wings. Both teams are loaded with talent and could be Final Four teams her last two seasons. At Notre Dame she'll likely replace Brianna Turner in the middle, and at Tennessee she'd replace Russell. I hope she picks Tennesseee, always seemed like a hard worker and a good kid. Great size and length which will be much needed. If the freshmen are as good as advertised and Cooper makes strides, the LVs look formidable headed into 2018-19:

Cooper/Hayes
Westbrook
Davis
KK
Mompremier

Remember Te'a came to Knoxville in the same class as MeMe and she sat out a year so in the 2018 season (next year is considered the 2017 season) she would be able to leave because her incoming class would be seniors and she would also be turning 22 in the year of the draft

Seriously in her wildest dreams she is hard pressed to get picked. She has really showed nothing in college...even Reynolds had better stats

She showed in limited time as a freshman what she can do offensively than Jordan showed in 4 seasons! Jordan also was drafted high because of a coach and GM who has a thing for tradition (Michael Cooper who is a former Laker and loves Tennesse Lady Vols and our program and how things are done) and he also has a thing for bigger PG's, (drafted 6'0" Nicki Teasly & won a title with her in LA) no other team had her (Jordan) going that high or even drafted, she was selected on the pedigree of the Tennessee program

If she doesn't pick Miami, then her 'be close to home' reason for leaving Baylor isn't true.

In the first go around, Mompremier decided to go to a school that was leaning post heavy vs going to Tennessee who was desperate to sign a post player at the time. She had Tennessee listed as one of the schools she was strongly considering but I wonder if she was only feigning interest to prop up her national standing. I don't think she is interested in Tennessee this go around either. I'm not sure that going after a player that has already explicitly rejected the team once is the best way to go. I will admit, I am a long way from the situation and I don't read minds so I don't know what is really going on. If she goes to Tennessee, I hope her heart is in it.

A lot of times players are "forced" to go places that they don't want to go based on the bad advice from people in their circle. The AAU circuit is a monster and a lot of these players (both men and women) AAU coaches essentially sell them to the highest bidder based on the perks they can get for their programs....was Baylor truly her choice or the choice of the people around her?

I would prefer Mompremier (yes Johnson would have 3 years compared to 2 but I think Mompremier is the superior player/athlete)

Momptrmier was interested in UT during her recruitment. I don't think Johnson ever was?

With the freshman class we have coming in, I think the Lady Vol program would be an attractive program for almost any transfer. The guard play potential is sky high, add in one or two elite bigs and we have final four and championship potential for the next four years.

We should have this year.. with Mercedes Russell, Diamond DeShields, Jaime Nared, Te'a Cooper, and Cheridene Green

Yes the distance of the school plays a large part of it, but also, the teams you play in your conferences .... are they also close to home as well?

Tennessee will have games in FL, GA, MS, ALA, USC, all 1 day driving distances for her family

ND plays away games down in the south, FSU, Miami, G-Tech, Clemson. So it's just not always about home games.

At Baylor, the team never traveled close to her family, and never will.

So, she played 2yrs at Baylor to figured that she wanted to play close to her family?

Mompremier and Jatarie White both made the same mistake. Signed at a school along with a better player at their position. Aja Wilson got more minutes than Jatarie. Kalani Brown got more minutes than Beatrice. Jatarie may not have known for sure that Aja would be attending South Carolina; but Mompremier did know Kalani Brown would be attending Baylor. Some adult should have advised her more realistically.

Beatrice and white both thought they would be playing with them but in college if you are not the best then you won't play Coates was better than white at that position and Lauren will be better than beaterice
