Monday Bowl Practice Highlights

You still don't understand. Do you think it is an advantage for them to be sitting in the film room rather than practicing? I meant when I said I could not care less about how Bama's or Georgia's practices go. It is a big deal for our team. ANY practice time is extremely valuable. Worry about our team, don't give those other a second thought. Our staff and play calling is what will ultimately give us an edge. If you don't think these extra practices don't help the EEs, then I am glad you aren't on the staff.

well Merry Christmas to you too!

The extra practice for the new guys is great but this is the opportunity for Milton to have a coming out party on a national stage to set the tone for the coming year. If the weather is good and no rain pops up we should be able to see the steps he has taken against a real team and not just mop up duty. He has Squirrel, Keyton, Merrill, and McKoy to throw to. This can cement his role as starter or if we see some of the issues he has had in the past then it’s “game on” in the QB room.

It may be a "meaningless" bowl game but the practice reps Nico and the other EE's are getting are priceless. The program as a whole will be better off because of the extra practice that comes with a bowl game.

I disagree with meaningless. I realize lots of people have said this but All games mean something to me. I want the win. As well as the extra practice.

People who think this game is meaningless need set back and think about the last 15 or so years. This is the biggest game in the last 20 years. GO VOLS!

I remember in 1997 playing in Orange Bowl as the #3 team and #2 Nebraska just crushed us with those 5 year 23 & 24 yo 300# + redshirt Oline big ole Country boys just bulldozed us 42 to 17 Manning's final game. At that time, I had no idea that we would end up 13 & 0 the next year as National Champions.

As a few of you have said in this thread, this is a big game for our program and our fanbase. With such a successful year and rapid improvement under this coaching staff, it's easy to forget that we are still building and still growing. This is a huge step in the right direction for us. It's a huge opportunity to build off of and continue this upward trajectory. In 2014 & 2020 Georgia was playing in "meaningless" bowl games. getting a "W" in the Orange Bowl in 2014 and getting a "W" in the Peach Bowl in 2020........ look at where they are now. There are levels to success. we are on the the rise as a program and this Orange Bowl is just the beginning of the future!!!

it really is an advantage for teams that aren't in the playoffs, they can dedicate more reps to new players than playoff teams will. The playoff teams won't be giving reps to the incoming 5 star qb because they are playing a game that matters, the other bowls with less emphasis will allow for new guys to participate in more reps.

Yep. If he flops in the bowl, that doesn’t absolutely mean he won’t succeed in 2023, but it’s a very bad indicator.
