Moneyball... Your opinions on it.

Nonsense. So when you say a player has good range, you are saying he is good at predicting where the ball will be hit based on the pitch thrown and the tendencies of the batter? That's what you mean by range?

You and I are talking about FLD %. Feel free to talk about power hitters with whomever you were talking about power hitters with.

lol

No range is a combo of getting the immediate jump on the ball and actually getting there. You know full well the basis and central theme of every reply I've made to you has been about fld %. You just pick and choose 2 words from a 50 word response that suits whatever dreck you're trying to spew. It shows how weak your argument is

And the deflection indicates you know your case is weak. I don't know why in the **** you are bringing up power hitters, sabermetrics, or anything else. We are talking about FLD %.

which is why I clearly covered that both Chavez and Miggy had great range. Especially Chavez. Without the ability to know where the ball is going, your range is greatly diminished. It is about knowing baseball, not logic. Using logic is why Beane's sabermetric system hasn't worked since he had 2-3 pure power hitters in the lineup to go with his always solid pitching. Again, thanks for playing for no reason. Now crawl back to making bad arguments in the NBA thread.

Good job proving me right. Taking my comparison of why your logic doesn't work by comparing it to Beane's sabermetrics and ignoring the main sentence/topic sentence sums you up perfectly. Welcome back... How about you just stay away this time? It's best for your weak defense.

Wow. I didn't expect this to end in a full scale debate... Only trouble is that I am not a big enough baseball fan to wade through the jargon...

Saw the movie this weekend, and really liked it. Brad Pitt is looking a lot like Robert Redford these days. My wife and I both said that at the same time while watching Moneyball.

Are you an adult?

I liked the movie. Took it for what it was. Not the end all be all sabermetrics film

Watched it the other night on DVD; I thought it was good but my wife lost interest due to the baseball portion. Pitt did a good job, and I agree he's seriously starting to look like Redford. Jonah Hill did a good job too.

I've seen 4 of the 9 Best Picture nominees now (Moneyball, The Artist, The Help, and Midnight in Paris), and so far I'd have to rank this one 4th of those, with my favorite being The Artist but the The Help being an extremely close second if not a tie.
