Strikes me just a little too conveinient that the home town boy won the deportes event, (insert espn consipiracy theory here)

It did seem a little convenient. :hmm:

Really I think it was just a case of one of the great road course drivers in the world outclassing the field.

Ridiculous full course cautions every other lap allowing him to catch up certainly didn't hurt his cause either.

If there was going to be some kind of hometown conspiracy, wouldn't they have chosen a Mexican to win the race rather than a Colombian?

True but I was wrong in assuming Montoya was Mexican and the home town boy, though he did seem to be local favorite....then again I'm assuming your correct that he's Columbian...lol.

Oh yeah, he's still a big favorite in Mexico. Either way, it worked out pretty well that the foreign star won in the foreign country.

You got that right! Does anybody remember when they used to have local cautions on a road course? Of course that would make it harder for Nascar to control the outcome.

Yeah... although you gotta say it's not just the road courses. The cautions in general at every track have been this ridiculous for the last few years.

It all depends on who is leading as to when the "debris" cautions come out. If Jeffy or Jimmie are leading, they will hold out on on calling the caution. If it's someone like Stewart or Harvick leading, you can bet on seeing the yellow flag wave to let the others catch up to them.

When's the last time a NASCAR race had a winner spinning out a leader....Any #3 fans out there????

It's better when it's clean but we see this 25 - 50% of NASCAR races.
