From a poster on TOS:

This is Keith Easterwood on MT.org:

1) "Chris most likely will end up in Knoxville, and he should. It's the best place for him."

2) When asked why Jones made a stink if that's the case (and evidently Easterwood, who I think is a total douchebag, btw, is close with Jones), he replied: "Kid gets a phone call, is emotional, thinks the reporter is a friend, cares. Life lesson. Keep your mouth shut until the dust settles."

If Jones qualifies and comes to Rocky Top, he will have proven he was just a young kid popping off from nerves and his heart is in the right place. You got to know if you are going to play for Coach Zo you are going to have to lay it all out on the line - so he won't come if he is afraid of that.

How many bags are allowed by CCM and his staff? Kid is already working on being over the weight limit. Drama just doesn't randomly happen, recurringly.

GIve the kid a break, he's only 18 yo. I have a feeling Martin is a no-nonsense coach that will get the most out of his players and make them the best player they can be as long as they do what he tells them to do. Martin will be good for Chris Jones.

It's a big decision. Get over it.

For all who thought CM was stupid, uncaring, disorganized or whatever, you need to take a look at yourselves and how it is possible to conclude what you do. He has played this just about right.

You have it locked down. "Coach Zo" has been coaching for years? Really, why would you play for a coach with no experience?

So there's a coaching change...

CJ asks for a release initially because the coach he committed to has just been fired, but then he is talked out of it.

CCM talks to CJ and tells a reporter that he thinks he will stick to his LOI.

A reporter calls CJ, gets his thoughts in the heat of the moment, and proceeds to write an article saying he wants out of the LOI.

I'm missing the part where he's an over dramatic attention whore.

I find it funny when a fan bashes an 18 year old for being an over dramatic attention whore.... pot meet kettle? Good post btw

I think your timeline is right, and I'm also missing that part.

Every time this happens, and it happens fairly often, the hilljacks come out in droves with their unfounded opinions and make like everything is black and white; Like their lives are.

This kid has been lied to by an AD, lied to by a coach he revered and told we don't want him by a small but vocal segment of the fan population of the school he wants/wanted to attend.

Sounds like the drama is happening to him and is not being created by him, but rather, by adults whom should know better. I hope Jones wants to come to Tennessee, but in no way would I fault him for choosing otherwise. Seems simple to me.

I realized I said I didn't know what I thought earlier, but I like the idea of CCM getting raw talent to work with in his first year here.

I hope Jones decides to come here. I do have to agree with your statement here though. Too much drama.
