True, but Georgetown is a good team. I dont mind when the better team is picked to win, but for UT to lose against an inferior one? I dont know. Perhaps ESPN is using reverse psychology. They know Bruce does better as the underdog so they are trying to create that atmosphere for him.

On topic, they showed Gottlieb picking Florida on Sunday and then an hour later, saying they were out of it. That's all fine and good, but there had been no game that knocked them out, he just seemingly changed his mind, BUT, said they could "play themselves in to the field", even though their season was well over. When this was pointed out to him, he didn't seem to understand the problem; it was like dude had a psychotic break or something; Very hard to watch, and obviously ill-prepared. That's what makes him unreliable, IMO, because he's all over the place.

He definitely watches more basketball and knows more about the game, but very few national analysts know more about UT basketball than quite a few people on this board just because we watch every UT game and they just look at the score. An example would be that UK loss a few days ago. The score does not indicate how the actual game went but these national analysts keep saying we're "limping" into the tournament when, really, we have won 5 of our last 6.

that's great but how much do you know about our opponent. Add the 2 and I would put his knowledge above 99% of this board.

I have a very hard time thinking UT is in great shape after the debacle vs UK. No one can say with any certainty which UT will show up, the one that beat UK and KU or the one that lost to USCw and UGA

Gottlieb's brother Gregg was an assistant coach for a few years at SDSU. Maybe that's the reason why he picked against us...At least that's what Bruce said in the ESPNU Podcast for the 16th talking to Doug.

Maybe I'm thinking of someone else, but wasn't Gottlieb an assistant coach to Bruce Pearl at the 2009 Maccabiah Games.
