More Golf: Strengths and Weaknesses

No, but I had the opportunity to play in a vendor sponsored tournament at the same course over in Atlanta on the East Side that the Tour uses that roates between ATL and Houston. Eastlake? Hard, shaved bermuda are probably the fastest greens I've seen, although plush, tightly cut crenshaw bentgrass is like rolling on the table as well.

I'm so jealous. I've wanted to play there since I was about 16. How was your caddie?

I've been following the story of Eastlake since it was renovated and the area around it revitalized. For those who don't know, it's in the middle of a former ghetto where something like 95% of the children didn't know who their father was. Now it's surrounded by mixed income housing. The course has after-school programs for low-income children from the area and employs many of them to, among other jobs, caddie for members (it's a walking only course). And membership supposedly is very tight and very exclusive. So you have disadvantaged kids caddying for CEOs and other esteemed people from all over the world.

Oh yeah. I think it was also Bobby Jones' home course.

I did get to have a caddy on a couple of courses in Manila back in college when my parents lived there. That was nice to have a caddy.

Actually, we had carts. Or, if no carts exist at Eastlake, maybe it was a very comparable CC close by. But, it was right in there. That's why I was thinking it was Eastlake. When we played there, they were doing some rennovations. I attended a round of the Tour Championship there a few years back, and I'm trying to recall if the course I walked mirrored what we played.

Athens CC in Athens, GA, also very sweet. Another vendor tourney. Those are always nice.
