SEC fans might notice something different during their college football games next season: more music.

Beginning in 2014, SEC stadiums will be allowed to blast music in between plays during games. Georgia athletic director Greg McGarity told the Athens Banner-Herald the league has relaxed its music policy to cultivate the atmosphere for fans.

I can understand it in the pros. There is a reason hs and colleges have bands. It's an atmosphere thing. Just my 2 cents.

Let the Jets and Giants keep Bon Jovi to themselves.

You can never have too much of that song. I wish the band played it sometimes!

Troll face

Old Ogre here, ain't no troll.

The beauty and pagentry of CFB, with the marching bands, majorettes, flag corps, cheerleaders, dance squads, and mascots is beginning to be squeezed out by children who watch "thuh pros" on Sunday and hear piped in, raggedy azz, clipped signal music an their little hearts go flutter an they say, "OMG THATS WHAT UT NEEDS TO DO!"

I can just keep it on mute...

I am glad to hear it. It seemed to me that opposing stadiums have been doing this for a while and it would fire up the crowd.

A band should play in between downs and after scoring plays. Recorded music should play in between quarters, before kickoffs, during timeouts etc.

For the sake of the atmosphere, there should be a healthy mixture of both, IMO.

Every game I've gone to when the band plays Rocky Top, the crowd got rather fired up. IMO, piped in rap music will have the opposite effect. Something like Sandstorm could work though

Last year during the UGA game, they started playing some crappy rap music over the loudpseaker for the hundreth time. I said "God not this S!@# again. The girl in front of me (I didn't know her, but she was cuteand we had been joking back and forth during the game) turned around and said "Yeah, I wish they would play some Skynyrd instead."

I fell in love right then and there

Cool Story Bro.
