Now that things have settled down a bit I am more optimistic about next year than I have been since RS was named coordinator.

1. The defense will be ok.
2. Every other team in the SEC will have QB issues (even if UT has them as well). I personally think Leak will be done.
3. Cut, or someone of that caliber will have 9 months to prepare a QB and tweak the offensive scheme.
4. CPF will feel the continuous pressure and return to coaching the OL and hand the offense over to the new OC.
5. Special teams have no where to go but up.
6. RS will be back in Morristown.
7. The schedule will not be as brutal as this years.
8. The young recievers like Briscoe and Rogers will be pressing for more PT.
9. D. Morely will be starting.
10. Its great to be a Tennessee Vol.

i'm not sure lexvol. cal, florida, alabama, SC, georgia, LSU. pretty tough. i would feel better if henning gets the job as OC, but i don't think that will happen. cutcliff is good, but we don't have a manning to make him great i believe henning if he wants the job is the best out there.

We will have Cal, Fla, and Bama at home. Fla maybe breaking in a new QB, and Bama definately will. Ga will also be breaking a new QB in. LSU is the toughest game on the schedule, and they are at home as well.

Cut, Henning, or anyone else is an improvement.
Foster looks ready to roll, and Coker may contribute as well. Hardesty will probably not be 100% until 2007.

i agree foster look like a stud, but if we can't throw the ball we are not going to improve. next year will all depend on our Qb and how well he plays.

Foster looked good running the ball but he needs to work on pass protection. He wasn't helping Ainge back there.

How many defensive Vols should return next year? Also, whatever happened to being the best because you beat tough teams; NOT being the best because everyone else is weak??

3 - 5, that's what happens. I would much rather be a USC and play the easy schedule to win the NC.

Being the best by beating tough teams is something that Tennessee isn't very good at. It has happened, but not enough.

He has crazy numbers for a redshirt freshman. This guy is a player. I almost jumped out of my skin when he reversed field and took off on that long run. I have been looking for that all effort year. He seems to care about winning. He did all of it after being banged up last week.

Since when lately does playing in Knoxville help UT? Everyone thought that Florida was overrated this year too, but they still beat us.

Whats our D going to look like next year?

If Justin Harrell stays it will look a lot better. If he stays then it will be him and Tony McDaniel (assuming he doesn't kill anyone in the offseason) at DT. Reynolds and Mitchell will probably start at DE. Don't know what to expect there. Our LB corp will take a huge hit in experience but Chavis always seems to find 3 more than capable LBs. The secondary should be the strength of the team next year.

id rather be in knoxville then death valley. we dont alwasy suck at home. last year only one home loss and that was to unbeaten auburn. the reason we lose at home a lot is because w play a lot of good teams at home. i would rather be under comfort of 109,000 fans at knoxville.

I firmly believe D-Mo will be one of the starters next year. I don't know where, though, because he is capable of playing corner or safety.

last i looked tvolfan tennessee may be the most overated team in college football. cutcliff i don't believe is going to come in and have amajor impact. the other teams i listed have better coaching staff's and i believe it will show. the only way i see us winning even 2 of those games is if we hire dan henning if he wants the job fulmer should tell him to buy a house in knoxville, before he changes his mind. he is the offensive mastermind we have been looking for.

Who is Dan Henning? Have some info on him? Thanks.

Dan Henning is the 62 year old offensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers. Traveled around quite a bit.

Why don't you and Sarge go start an "I hate UT" site with a bunch of Bammers. This was meant to be a positive post and once again you have nothing but negativity to sling.

Projected 2006 Vols Offense

TE –Chris Brown
LT – Arron Sears
LG – Rob Smith
C – David Ligon
RG – Ramon Foster
RT – Eric Young
WR – Jason Swain
WR – Robert Meachmen
WR – Robert Smith / Lucas Taylor
QB – Eric Ainge
TB – Arian Foster
FB – Cory Anderson

Questions (Can David Ligon play center?)

Projected 2006 Vols Defense

DE – Xavier Mitchell
DT – Tony McDaniel – Demonte Bolden
DT – JT Mapu – Turk McBride
DE – Antonio Reyolds
LB – Rico Mcoy
LB – Marvin Mitchell
LB – Jerod Mayo
CB – Jonathan Wade
CB – Inky Johnson
SS – Demetrice Morley :dance2:
FS – Jonathan Hefney

Questions (Can the front four be replaced and how good is Rico Mcoy?)

I believe we will all like the answers to the questions and with 9 out of their twelve games being played in the state of Tennessee; I predict SEC championship and possible National Championship. Have faith, we shall reclaim what is ours.

There is no way the front four we have can be replaced with the talent up front we are losing, but I think next year's front four will still be a good group.

Don't forget Justin Harrell at DT. He is a Junior that might get a look at the NFL early. But I'd say he'll be back unless he is projected to be a 1st rounder (and I doubt that at this point).

Some guys in the mix not mentioned:

OFFENSE
C McNeil
WR Briscoe
TB Hardesty
FB Holbert

DEFENSE
DE Robert Ayers
DT Harrell
LB Karl
DB A Stewart
