More Republican Shenanigans in Wisconsin

Didn't the GOP in NC do the same (or try to do the same) when they lost the Governor' house a few years ago?
Yes. This is from the same playbook that Republicans in North Carolina used in 2016 after (D) Roy Cooper defeated (R) Pat McCrory. Republicans staged a special session in which they pared down the governor's executive powers three weeks before Cooper took office. Since Cooper assumed office, Republicans have continued trying to limit the powers of the office with constitutional amendments that would have limited his control over appointments to the state judiciary and board of elections. Those amendments had to be approved at the ballot box, however... and they were both easily defeated.

The next time a Republican accuses Democrats of trying to thwart the will of the people and circumvent the democratic process, bring up these shenanigans to them. They are pretty transparent with their hypocrisy.

Have Dems ever done anything comparable to what we're seeing in NC and WI? Not saying we're saints, but I can't remember Dems doing anything this anti-democratic.

So you’re telling me that the Republicans act the same way as Democrats?

I am shocked.

And you’re saying it’s only a problem when Republicans do it?

Again I’m shocked

Did you locate some evidence of the Dems doing something like this in the past?

It’s not the same thing, but do you remember when WI Democrats fled to Illinois so they wouldn’t have to deal with Scott Walker?

Or the Harry Reid-led senate that never produced a single budget bill?

Again, not the same thing, but Democrats are hardly holding moral high ground.

So do elections have consequences or not? I would agree. One of these things is not like the other.

They’re actions taken to thwart the will of the people.

In Harry Reid’s case, he blatantly defied the Constitution because he didn’t like Bush and Cheney.
