Most classless fan base ever

Last year I took my buddy, Florida grad to Knoxville . It was a great time and he commented a world of difference in environment in Knoxville vs Gainesville. Everyone around us at that game was cordial. And he was amazed we even had an invocation before the start of the game.

This year he returned the favor and I was at the Swamp, corner end zone lower section. I’m glad I did not take my 12 year old son. Had grownups yelling FU Tennessee, flipping off Tennessee players. Anytime a TN player went down on the fire guy behind me would yell “get up you POS”. Guy literally lost his mind on the last play. There was a lady beside me with 3 teenage girls all the while. Zero class by their fans. At one point I turned around when the dude behind me was calling our players POS, and said “dude they are 18-20 year old students, chill”. It was an awful, awful experience and I’ll never go back. And if I was at a TN game and saw our fans doing the same I’d probably say something as well. I know students can get a little rowdy but these were all supposed grown adults here acting like complete idiots.

Btw the swamp is a totally outdated dump. Jumbotron sucks. The piped in music was awful. Tom Petty song is irritating. Scoreboards sucked.

Gator fans were the same when I was there 15 years ago. I haven’t been there since.

They cooked me all night….But the walk out through the student section was quite the time. The students are nerds and it doesn’t bother me. It’s when the old dudes try to get cute…I usually respond to them
Was my first time there and it was about what I expected

Gator fans are the worst😂. I’ve seen some of our fans get out of line but in every single instance, other Vols fans shut their crap down. I know that’s not always the case, but I’d rather suffer with the Vols faithful than be associated with a gator fan.

Section D? I was sitting right next to the guy. Had my three young boys with me. Had to move down and sit by him because it was bothering them so much. I hate I didn’t move sooner because it ruined the first half for them. They were ready to leave. But I did know going in that could happen. There were some nice fans who were kind fans around us but yeah that dude yelling everytime a player went down was a piece of work. He was drunk out of his mind. I finally at the end was like dude you know that doesn’t help us? You are literally running the clock out. O well. I feel bad for the dude. Must have some major issues in life to act that way.

Nope, not section D. Must be another idiot but there were plenty around me acting the same way. He was just in my ear the whole time.
If it was one , I’d say it was isolated but there were many idiots

Only fan base that is worse than Florida is South Carolina. They are both just awful.

That was nice of your buddy to take you, but you couldn't pay me to go to that cess pit.

I went to a memorable UT Florida game at Neyland up in the nosebleeds and a drunk Gator shouted ‘You dirty Vawls.. kick em in the Vawls , the Hairy Vawls’ while laughing at himself uproariously, and did this for 2.5 hours and everyone ignored him.. then he vomitted on himself and passed out on the seats.. so someone went and got security 😂.. had this happened anywhere else,I am not certain that the outcome would have been the same 😂 He just laid there sprawled across that silver bench until we collectively decided we should help him or something lol

We didn't have any real issues but were deep in a season ticket section. Having kids with you can soften the comments though

I just found the whole stadium experience to be lacking and corny.

Went there when Shuler scored 14 unanswered to cut it to 21-14 right before the half. Kid (UF Student) behind me was chirping non-stop and cursing a bunch. Finally had to tell his friends that they either get him to STFU or they’d be first.

While the game was lost I’d offer, like us, there are some reasonable fans but a few hyper-obnoxious types that are insufferable.

They're stuck in the 90s, and had enough success with Tebow and Meyer that they haven't reached the sort of failure it takes to break them of their past glory.

If that's true, it's a shame. I've never seen it get any worse than just really rowdy and enthusiastic. I've never been to an SEC stadium that I felt like warranted a diatribe, and I've been to Tiger Stadium were they allegedly throw piss balloons at people.

Return the favor next year. Women, Children and the elderly/ disabled are off limits. Otherwise give them hell
