Was The catch that North made on 3rd and 10 in the the 4th the best catch in school history? I think you could argue it was, if he dosent make that catch then we don't win

Top five at a min.

Can't think of a bigger catch in terms of style points + what it meant to our program.

Peerless' catch vs. FSU in the MNC might have been "bigger" in that it was a huge in winning the MNC.

But I think Marquez' catch is at least top 5 in "style points" already, and one of the biggest catches in Vol history for what it meant to our program.

For a "style catch" that was also meaningful...beyond a doubt NUMBER ONE!

It was one of the most amazing catches during clutch time that I can remember in UT history.

Heath Shuler hit Ronald Davis on a 4th and 16(?) at Sanford stadium in Athens that kept alive a game winning FG drive.... That's the only catch I can remember immediately rhat rivals today's grab.

Agree, maybe the best catch...but P.Price in the SEC championship vs MSU in 4th Qtr and Price in National Championship game made a more clutch catch....but not better....North is gonna be special.

Worley needs to go to deep to Marquez at least 3 times per game.

I'm so damn glad we've got him for two more years at the minimum.

Most clutch, probably today. Greatest? Today and the Larry Seivers (From Condredge Holloway) catch to beat Clemson in 74.

Holloway to Seivers on a 2 pt conversion to beat Clemson in the 70s was similar in tension at the time, style points and difficulty.

Larry Sievers touchdown catch against Clemson in 1974 and His two point conversion catch against Vandy in a 21-21 tie in 1974 were both bigger

4th and 19 against Bama in Tuscaloosa from Casey Clausen to CJ Fayton in the 5OT win was the most clutch I can remember. But the North catch today was pretty darn close. The only reason I give the edge to Fayton is the fact that that was 4th down and North's was 3rd. North's is definitely in the top 3 that I've seen since I started watching UT football around '93

Peerless in the 98 SEC Championship as well. Hell, Peerless was the most clutch receiver we ever had. Had Fulmer have been smarter with RS, both he and Tee could've been around for another year (Peerless in 99 and Tee in 00).

My favorite part was when the ball remained in his hands the entire time, even though some guys in red didn't want to let him have it.
