For me, Miami stands alone at the top of the mountain and it all goes back to the rogue, outlaw program that Jimmy Johnson ran at the "U." With the exception of Florida fans, I have never seen such collective arrogance as we witnessed from the Miami program during that period.
I understand the contempt for USC right now, given the situation with Kiffin and the fact that we have never beaten them. We're 0-2 in Rose Bowl appearances and 0-2 in regular season play. As soon as Kiffin leaves, however, my personal animosity toward them will be drastically reduced.
I do not understand the high degree of contempt for Ohio State, however, unless it is simply predicated upon the fact that Urban Meyer is now their coach. Plus, we are 1-0 against them.
Nor do I have serious ill well toward Michigan, except for the Peyton Manning-Charles Woodson Heistman fiasco. In our only meeting, we absolutely destroyed the Wolverines, 45-17. I have very fond memories of Jason Witten leaving their secondary in the dust during that game.
As for Notre Dame, the only things I really have against them are their independent network status and the preferential treatment the NCAA gives them in terms of participation in BCS bowl games.
