Answering this question requires precise definition of the nature of our rivalries. If you ask who is the "biggest" rival historically, the answer without question must be Alabama. When it comes to pure, unadulterated contempt or loathing, Florida gets the nod, courtesy of Spurrier's behavior and the condescending, self-assumed superiority which so many Florida fans manifest. Personally, I despise Vanderbilt more than any other football rival and it is for purely personal reasons. With an uncle who coached baseball there during the late 1960s and 1970s, I have endured 40 years of intrafamilial trash-talking, regardless of the football fortunes of our respective teams. Consequently, I have developed a Cafegoesque contempt for Vanderbilt's football program. "Commodore" is best served cold, marinated, and beaten to a bloody pulp.

What does most heated rival mean?
I love the Bama rivalry, the history and what not.
But I hate everything about the Gators.

Bama especially in three years when we are seeing them twice a year for a national championship

Really? If that isn't the pot calling the kettle black.

There he is.

It's really not up for debate. Of course every SEC fanbase is delusional, but Vandy takes the cake.

Other SEC teams actually have accomplishments to brag about.

Run along.

Same here.

However, I HATE that I hate Candy so much right now. I can't stand to hear them talk. I cannot stand their coach. I cannot stand their fans. This has been the most important game of the year to me since before the season started. I hate that this is the case and cannot wait until this is never the case again.

Vandy will fall back into the land of mediocrity again and be apart of the traditional November sweep. I hate them now as I always did but they are Vandy and will always be Vandy

I know it's not our most heated rivalry, but I hate Vandy the most.

I've never seen a group of people (fans and players) that is more irrational.

The last time they beat us back to back in the 20s and we are calling that heated rivalry, that's like calling a fart a turd.:eek:lol:

Oh, dear god, how he wants that vote! Gotta become relevant to even be considered. Beat us for about a lifetime consecutively, then you might be considered.

It's really because I live in the Nashville area.

I hear how "Vandy has taken over; UT is the new Vandy" every day. They don't shut up.

The Alabama rivalry is barely a rivalry anymore. Most Bama fans consider LSU and Auburn to be their big rivals.

Going down to Florida in the late 90's early 00's was the most heated rivalry. Especially playing under the swamp lights, a lot of blood was shed then.

I'm with Doyle and Smo on this one. Just can't understand how anybody could pick anything other than Bama.
