Most humiliating loss of Butch era

No Dooley whooped him pretty good....

I was at that game and Butch was totally outcoached.

LOL.

I wish I was joking.

Yet one is a wide receivers coach and the other has a top 25 team right now

About to have the first ten win regular season since, what, 1998?

We played our worst game of the year. We got it out of the way. Easy schedule the rest of the way. Gonna get healthy, retool, and be in Atlanta. Calm down, get a drink, and relax

We had an easy schedule most of the way so far. The two good teams beat us.

We had a lot of injuries, and that definitely contributed to the slaughter.

That said, I believe this team has reached the Butch Jones ceiling. Butch is a great recruiter and a mediocre coach. With talent, he can get us to 9 maybe 10 wins. That's really good and I can commend him for stabilizing our program. This loss may have been embarrassing but we aren't embarrassed against Vandy, KY, etc. at least. He was placed in a deep hole and got us out of it

But the offensive schemes have been puzzling. The end of game management in several games both last year and this year has been frustrating. Why have we been coming out so flat against everyone?

I think he'll be our coach for at least another 2-4 years. I fear to see what happens as our recruiting starts to decline, though.

Why weren't we able to get a more serviceable offensive line after 4 years of recruting? Why couldn't we find a serviceable qb to replace Josh Dobbs, who is a smart, great guy but clearly is missing that spark?

I'm not a doomsdayer but I've accepted that this is probably as much as we can expect out of his teams. With Butch, I think we will be the orange version of Richt's Georgia teams - maybe a little less success. We'll sit at #2 or #3 in the East but never win an SEC championship or Natty. But at least we're not Dooley's Vols

It's so easy to tout ten wins and ignore that there's an extra game played now

Jalen Hurts our Defense.
Too many key injuries to this team. Just a fact. When Tatum came in I knew our offense was toast. We'll be back. GBO!!

I agree, but he's still far better than Dooley.

The OP is right in that Butch looks better than he is because his predecessor was so unbelievably bad.

Agree.

I have personally heard from three players mouths how much they hate the offensive formation.

How the way they line up is stupid.

I know every team has pissed off players but there are a lot of players who don't buy into the system anymore.

*sigh* Dude. As much as it pains me, they just straight up beat us. What was Dobord going to do? Throw and get sacked a million times. He couldn't abandon the run. We just couldn't execute sadly.

Bull,
The run was not working. Play to win the ball game.

Also, there is a dern thing call play action!! Deboard doesn't seem to know this.

Deboard has maybe 10 play calls. Seriously, that's it!
