Most Important game for CBJ and TN...

Very much concur.

Beat Florida and the momentum can carry us into the Ole Miss and Mizzou games with some confidence. Maybe even keep it real with Bama.

Not going to say we'll win any of those games. But beating Florida will help show the team anything is possible.

so we beat florida and lose every other game...the game each week is just as important as the next.

The game each week is important. But Florida is the mental game so to speak. Tennessee has lost too many times and it's a mental block with the team. Win that and I'd be willing to bet you see a whole new face on the team.

Who says we are supposed to win big? Utah state has been a much more successful football program the last several years while UT has been in the basement of the SEC. I'm as big a UT fan as there is, but to expect us to blow out USU is a little unrealistic

Last time I checked USU wasn't playing an SEC schedule with 1-2 tough OOC games per year. Believe it or not, it makes a difference in how many games you win each year.

I don't want to think about what happens if the Vols lose.

A nuclear meltdown of epic proportions, Vawl Calls callers will be shouting "Far Butch" into their handsets, followed by a very slurry sounding "I'll hang up and listen :thud:".

Utah State, because they are this weeks opponents. The most important game of the season is always the current game you are preparing for.

These small school games MUST be won. We have to win these to get back to national prominence. We must take care of business when we know we should. Then we peck away at our rivals in the SEC. If we lose to these smaller schools and then to Candy or Kentucky, the perception is there we will never get back to the bigtime. After so long, you forget how to win the big games because confidence is gone.

The three "cupcakes", Vandy and Kentucky are the biggest of the season. We must win all of those. We need to win one of the remaining seven after that for a bowl game. I would rank he UF and Mizzoo games the best shots for wins of the seven but I hope the players think they can win them all and we coast into a bowl berth.

First off, we're gonna win by three touchdowns. Big commit after the game. Life is great. Now on to the next game. :pepper:

Recruits want 2 things. Playing time and to play in the NFL.

There is a reason Alabama, Ohio State, LSU, Florida State etc pull in the best recruiting classes every year, and it's not becuase of playing time.

Recruits want to play for winners as well as what you mentioned above. Like it or not, not making a bowl game this year will hurt recruiting.

If we lose recruits because we only win by a FG then I don't want them here, personally. We won 5 games last year and had a top 5 class. Those are the guys I want.

And how much quality are you willing to give up for that mindset?

We could fill a roster with 2-stars that love being here, but we are not going to win too many games that way. We need talent.

Butch proved last year that you don't have to sacrifice quality, that was my point. We won 10 games in 2 years and signed a top 5 class. It wasnt a class full of 2-stars. Its all about finding kids that want to be here and selling them on the vision. I don't want a bunch of guys who don't really care and are just trying to ride some wave (Bama) into success and the NFL.

Well then why are kids telling the above schools to kick rocks and choosing UT?? We haven't won crap in years thanks to we all know who!! Butch Jones is turning this thing around so enjoy the ride!!

Tennessee will be 8-4 in 2014. Signature win??? Will be against South Carolina....again, they are in their heads.

I honestly don't think this is the year we are going to get Florida. I don't see that happening until 2016.

I would love to eat my words though, as I HATE Florida MORE than I hate ALABAMA

I may be in the minority, but me too. Hate those guys more than an ESPN analyst. Spurrier used to light my ass up on the regular. For some reason I don't mind him as much at SC. Don't even get me started on Tebow.....

Biggest game of the year IMO is the Florida game.

1. Florida is still in a down period but wont be for long.
2. We get them at home
3. We havent beat them in a long long time
4. Historically speaking, beating Florida means big things for Tennessee

This would be a huge statement game if Butch can embarrass them in our house on national TV. It could be our break out game in the eyes of the national media and could be looked at as the turning point in our fortunes.

Obviously beating Bama under the same circumstances would be bigger. But I think we should be able to actually beat Florida.

Bammer. Lane Kiffin concludes his destruction of every college program he's been a part of and moves back to the NFL to attempt to tie that record.

Saban retires and becomes a raging alcoholic while traveling the midget bowling grand tour. Kirby Smart becomes head coach at Kansas and wins the Big 12 Championship. Kiffin takes the Seattle Seahawks to unprecedented back to back 0-14 seasons, gets fired, calls dad and gets new job with the WR corps at Dallas replacing Dooley.

Dooley becomes head coach at Alabama. Circle of life is complete.
