Most important hire in ut history!!!!

This is absolutely the most important head coaching hire UT has ever faced. And, we hire Butch Jones!!! It is safe to say this isn't your daddy's Vols anymore. I will always be a Vol fan, but no more money from me. They will have to show me they know what their doing.

A guy like Jones would have been great 3 years ago, but this is the absolute worse thing we need right know. He will not excite fans which will lead to poor support. Which will likely lead to poor recruiting. All turns into a big cycle of 6 and 7 win seasons.

Way to make a splash Hart! Only problem is it is a negative one!!!!

All our splash candidates turned us down though. I'm not about to defend Hart; he's done a more miserable job with this coaching search than I thought possible. He is mostly to blame.

But there were no splash candidates left. When Strong turned us down, our fate was sealed. We were left with a bunch of unexciting nobodies.

Yeah the guy was 4-8 year 1 at cinci. Now put him here with probably a different qb and top receivers in the sec. He will lose a lot and not because he isn't a good coach but because not many in the big orange nation want this guy here and the players here the chatter. I mean if we don't stop putting all our eggs in these guys basket. I mean we should have pick of the litter. This all starts at the top. I think that our ad is pretty much looking like a beggar.we made a list of unrealistic and easy hires. I think mr. Hart wishes he had a search firm now. I just don't agree with his way of doing this.hes making us look like a bunch of beggars. I just hate this feeling of getting on b/r and volnation everyday just knowing we got our guy. But the same old story either were going after a guy that we know won't be our coach our were reading about a guy turning us down. I mean gosh we haven't even said anything about boises Chris Peterson. Just tell hart to take a breath and stop offering everybody he either interviews or wants to interview.. Man we should be accepting a coach not the other way around..whatever time to crash

I am not sure what nightmare we are seeing but someone get a towel and wipe the egg off of Dave Hart's face. It is hard to be successful when surrounded by incompetence. Butch Jones, you have got to be kidding me. Wake me up if this nightmare ever ends.

Volnation will be in meltdown again if Jones also rejects us. Then who do we get ?

Who besides Gruden (impossible hire) excited anyone? Charlie Strong? I'm glad he's staying at Louisville, didn't want him anyway. Our team will just continue to suck for years to come. Butch J. Just seems like another panic hire.

Butch Jones > Charlie Strong in head to head conference games and ranking.
I am not saying I would be happy with this hire, but Strong wasn't that much better either.
The nightmare !!!

Give me a break !! You should leave the state of Tennessee just once in a while and hear what others think of our football program ... Trust me it aint much. Growing up here in Tennessee and going to football games was the most awesome part of my life, but having lived in Indy, Hudson Fl., and now Cincinnati I can tell you as a Vol fan we are looked upon as a mid-level SEC program. Come on folks, be real .. you aint gonna get the big name coaches here because they dont want to be here. Butch Jones is a really solid coach and at this point Tennessee would be lucky to get him, or you can keep dreaming and let somebody else hire him and we end up with a junior high coach from Bucksnot Alabama. Act like adults, thats why coaches run from us not to us.

Several guys at the local sports bar said they was packing all the UT gear they had and driving to campus to scatter it out in the streets :eek:

Hart Blowed this hire! Sit on his ass all season and doesn't have a clue what UT needs.He just set Tennessee back another 4-5 years!

Just saw CIncin page and Jones does not have a single 4 star commit. I dont know if he can recruit here.

Forget coaching, you need talent first in the SEC!

A good AD would have been reaching out to a lot of candidates somewhere between the SC game and the Mizzou game. He began the search too late.

How do you think Arkansas got the Wisconsin coach out of left field? They were searching all year long which is what we should have been doing.

Fire Cheek TODAY!!!

Give Hart $5 Million a year and if he can't get a top coach that's 1 of the best recruiters in the country within 4 days then FIRE Hart too.

Our big $$$ boosters need to step up and force solid changes to be made at Tennessee NOW!!!

D@mn ever letting another gator or bammer ever run anything at Tennessee again!!!

After reading this stuff. I totally understand why a coach doesn't want to come to Tennessee. I would not either. We like to think our program is an elite one but lets face facts, we have sucked for at least three years. Why not get behind the new coach , whoever he is and the team.

I think as a fan and donor for the last 4 years we deserved better than this. I got behind Kiffin, I got behind Dooley, now I want to get behind Hart and rape him like this hire will rape us.......No Homo.....

I did leave I live in California and I hear it every Saturday but I still wear my orange and I still love my vols

Troll ? Humm... How many games have you attented ?? How many Bowl Games have you attented ?? How many times have you attented a Vols game on the road ?? Well I am a well traveled troll ... I have seen more home games than I can even count .. been to every SEC venue but Florida (well now A&M and Mizzu) I have been to every Sugar Bowl since I was born .. and even a Peach bowl or two. I was wearing Orange when Dicky bolted to Florida and left us with Bill Battle. Call me anything you like, but a troll ... heck no, i'm a VOL FOR LIFE !! Just and honest one:finger3:
