I want to hear everyone's thoughts on who will be the most improved player next year. Last year it was Maymon who came out much improved under CCM. This year, I think we're gonna see solid improvement across the board. But if you had to pick one player who will develop the most, who would it be?

After thinking about it, I think it will be Richardson. He already has a mid-range jumper and is a great defender. I expect CCM and staff to help him develop a 3 point shot to go with it. He also showed flashes of being able to dribble penetrate last year, which could also be fine tuned.

Really, I'm just trying to find any excuse to talk about basketball. I enjoy watching football but don't understand the nuances enough to talk about it in detail.

I would like to see McRae burst out. He has freakish athletic skills and could be an impact player if he can get everything together.

In my eyes it will be Stokes. I think a full offseason under CCM getting his body right and adding post moves will help him greatly. I think he'll extend his mid range shot and his free throws too could see something special coming from him and the rest of the team ! Go vols

Think it will be stokes also... But I think the greatest need for improvement is my favorite basktvol Trae Golden. He plays with alot of heart but he needs to improve ball handling skills.
Go Vols!

I agree. I think it will be Richardson. He seems to have the two keys essential for improvement - not only the potential to do so, but also the work ethic. That is key

He is already naturally athletic enough. He just needs a bit of refinement.

I think Richardson is the guy i would LIKE to see most. If he can bring what Cam brought (Occasional scoring and good perimeter defense) i think this team has a chance to make some noise.

I also look for Kenny Hall and Yemi to improve a good bit and supply quality backup minutes. I believe that with our roster the way it is we may have to go big with Mayman at the 3 at times this year, if Yemi and Kenny can improve that will make that a seamless transition.

Overall though I expect Stokes to be the most improved. We all know he has a chance to be very special, and with a full off season to work i believe he will be the guy that improves the most.

Personally, I think it's gonna be Yemi. He had moments where he flashed his enormous potential, and with another year of development, he could be the top sixth man in the SEC. He has the size and skill set to be a force.

I've been calling for McRae for awhile now and I really want to pick someone else for a change. Maybe if I pick someone else McRae will finally break out, and that's my hope.

However, my guess is stokes. It's not that he wasn't good or effective last year, I just expect him to be borderline unstoppable this year. The guys work ethic makes Tobias look like scotty(slight exaggeration), and he will not be deterred. I expect him to come in in too physical shape, and the extra games and practices in Europe I believe will also help him. I think you'll see improvement in golden, Richardson, maymon but you'll see a different animal in stokes this year. I'm thinking something around a 16ppg 12rbd 2blk type of guy

Unless maymon is playing the 3 significant minutes yemi will have trouble finding minutes over stokes maymon and hall in the post.

I'm a Golden fan too but in my opinion his troubles are greater on the defensive side of the ball. Dude has concrete feet. His offensive PG play is and will be fine.

Better decision making would be nice on the offensive end, but the talent and skill set is there for it.

It's going to be the guy who learns to shoot consistently better. We were pretty bad last year with FG% and I think that is the one area this team needs to improve ACROSS THE BOARD. If we learn to shoot, this team will do real well. They definately jelled in the late season run.

If our guard play still lacks the ability to hit the 3 or penetrate the lane we're in trouble.

I'm hoping that Johhny Bravo's posting improves the most in the upcoming season. He sucked so bad last year, there's really nowhere to go but up. Hopefully, he works on his attitude and comes back ready to contribute something, ANYTHING, to the basketball forum next season...

Could be another long frustrating year if it's not Stokes.

On the contrary, if Stokes stayed at the same level as last year and Mcrae made a big jump, this team could make some serious noise. Mcrae may be the most talented player we 've had here in 20+ years. He's just a headcase and needs to get it together. I would take him playing to the best of his ability over Stokes anyday.

20+ years? Allan Houston graduated in 1993 and if he were on this team Jordan would never sniff the floor except in practice.
