Most improved next season?

I'm going to say Stokes. Last year he was playing on raw ability and athletism alone. He was really just trying to keep up last year and was still a force. With an off season of college workouts he could be lights out this coming season.

On the contrary, if Stokes stayed at the same level as last year and Mcrae made a big jump, this team could make some serious noise. Mcrae may be the most talented player we 've had here in 20+ years. He's just a headcase and needs to get it together. I would take him playing to the best of his ability over Stokes anyday.

Agree that Mcrae has talent, but Ive heard multiple people rave about his talent much like you have. I just don't see it. Maybe I am missing something here though.

Well, I don't think McRae is close to being the most talented player on this years team, much less the past 20 years, but to each his own opinion.

I think if Stokes isn't your most improved player and stays close to the same Stokes that we saw at the end of the year, then I do not think UT will live up to the early rankings that we are seeing. Stokes played amazing for being a highschool player, but without Stokes being the dominant superstar that we all invision him as being, I don't think we take that leap we need to be in the top 25. With Hall, Maymon, and Stokes at the post, there will be something wrong with our offense and coaching decision if we are not constantly pounding it inside. I think all other players offensive stats should be ok and the bulk of our points comes from the post. I really don't want to see our guards jacking up 3s all game long with Maymon and Stokes screaming for the ball.

I agree that our posts should be getting the majority of shots, and 3's should be only from passes from the post or WIDE open.

Last year our guards and wings took 67% of shots. That rate is entirely too guard orientated/heavy for our lineup.

I'd like to see stokes getting around 15 fg att, maymon 12, and Kenny 8. That's 35 fg attempts a game from the post, we averaged 54 fg attempts a game last year with only 17 of those coming from our posts and 37 coming from our guards. So basically Im saying flip flop the numbers and give the posts the 60%ish amount of fg attempts.

He is a freak athlete, but he's not using his athleticism very effectively. I think everyone just wants him to be a driving and dunking machine.

I would look it up and do the math, but don't have time. Kinda curious what our post to guard shot attempts were in our wins vs. our losses last year.

I picked what I thought was one of our better games, and one also we were at full strength in the post, UCONN.

Our bigs took 27 shots, the guards/wings took 25 shots.

One thing to remember/point out, we were only at full strength in the post for 7 games. Jarnell playing after January and then missing 2 games, and then hall being suspended. We only had those 3 together for 7 total games, so maybe that was part of the reason.

But probably our best game of the 7 was verse Uconn and as the numbers show our bigs took over 1/2 the shots.
