Who is the most overrated player in baseball?

Mine is Ryan Howard.

Ryan Howard is not that guy any more.

Not too mention he's never been a 5 WAR player since his MVP year, and his defense is awful.

Freddie Freeman has been better this year than Ryan Howard in terms of WAR.

He is on pace to hit 30/120 this year, not bad by any means.

His power fell off last year and has this year, I still think he has the ability to do it again though.

He's putting up a .249/.343/.459 line. That's not very good for a "premier player". Not too mention is +RC is only 116.

If you make elite money and do not perform as an elite player, in my mind, that makes you overrated.

I can understand that. But I consider overrated someone in the media and casual fan's mind is a great player, but isn't. AKA Ryan Howard.

If I can extend it to people on baseball I would like to submit Billy Beane

I didn't realize he only hit 31 last year, not sure why you have to constantly take shots at me.

Either way, I'll take 30/120 from 1st baseman any day.

You have made the point that Howard is overrated ITT and didn't even realize it. Most people think Howard is still the 40-45 HR guy he was a couple years ago. He's not. That makes him overrated.
