Most Returning Starters in SEC

I think you’re looking at that all wrong my friend -

Most returning starters usually means you suck - that all your juniors weren’t NFL first three round material ….. look at all the teams around us - they all suck.

Just my opinion- your mileage may vary ….

So your brilliant take is that we must be in trouble because we’re returning one more starter than the two time champs? Quite the critical analysis.

Plausible. It could also mean a team started a lot of underclassmen lol. Still, these guys played a role in beating FIVE of the the teams who put more players into the NFL last year than we did. Granted the 5 TN players that went pro were largely underrated. Still, almost all of them underperformed until their Junior and Senior years. Heupel and company had something to do with their improvements. Let’s see what they have to do with 14 returning starters 😉

No because you can’t go NFL until you are a junior. We have 1 more starter than Georgia so I guess Georgia sucks too

Stop being a pessimist

So do they do this on returning starters from the first game or a player started one game some time in the year or who started in Bowl game?.
For instance will Joe M be called a returning starter or Keyton who replaced starter Tillman off & on throughout the year. This is a bit vague but I think UTs has legit returners their best position WRs lost 2 NFL guys but has reloaded IMO and Joe will be close or maybe = to HH and all 3 RBs are back and 2 fabulous Freshmen RBs. These 3 positions QB, WRs & RBs all are needed in a dynamic O. IMO the only loss that may show up is Darnell Wright Oline, although we are deep this year on OL depth wise just no 1st rounder in this line. I think our D will be much better. GBO

All depends on what kind of outlook you have on life. Me? Well I am half full guy so I will see it as a positive.

Texas ATM is either going to be really good this year (probably because they play us) or there is going to be a documentary made years from now on the dumpster fire of a season they had.
I think we are selling them short. There is a lot of talent on that roster, forget about last season and take no one lightly!

I think you absolutely can be right; however, I do believe mileage does vary based on the particular team's situation. So, Tennessee has 14 returning starters and we had 5 players drafted but ended up 10th in 2023 recruiting. I see that as a good situation as opposed to SCAR that also had 5 players drafted but only return seven starters and ranked 16th in 2023 recruiting. UGA returns 13 and had 10 drafted while coming in 2nd in recruiting.... that's F'n scary!

By week 4 there will either be a 'fireJimbo' gofundme account or there will be a 'JimboStatue' gofundme account...HAHAHA

Of course having 19 starters from a team who at times appeared they had quit, might mean at the first sign of trouble you'll be looking for 19 new starters.....

While that can be the case it's not always true. Not sure I'd say Small, Bru, Spraggins, Mays, Omari, Beasely suck. Then you still have Wright, Squirrel, Keyton, Pili, Thornton etc. Joe and the DBs are the main concern. Probably moreso the DBs at this point.

I expect A&M to be a Top 25 team this season.
I don't love the roster, but I expect them play like the 15-16 VOLS under Butch. Talent will win them some games, despite the dysfunction.

They will be a tough out.
Glad they are coming to our house finally.
We owe them a big LOSS.

Not necessarily. Not everyone that is productive is drafted. Could also mean you had a lot of FR and Soph's starting and now they are all upperclassmen. Look at TCU last year..They were filled with upperclassmen and SR's and for many of them it really started clicking for them their Sr years. Look at all the starters and production we had last season and that were returning starters( 18+). . That worked out well on the field and in the draft.
