Most Returning Starters in SEC

Having FL and SC earlier in the year may make these games more fun… for us.

We always play Fla early in the year. Covid was the only season we played them later than September. Other than that , we play Fla in Sept every season.

Transfer portal nullifies the impact of losing starters

It does not nullify it. The majority of transfer portal players are transferring because they weren't starters at their previous school. So many of the players UF and USCjr took in the portal will be new starters as well.

Texas ATM is either going to be really good this year (probably because they play us) or there is going to be a documentary made years from now on the dumpster fire of a season they had.

I think A&M is one of those teams if they stream some Ws together to begin the season, they could be really really good. On the other hand, if they stumble early say their 2nd game vs Miami they could string together a bunch of losses especially if their QB play is pedestrian. Jimbo has never had an elite team with a game manager, don't lose it for us, get it in playmakers hand type QB.
I'm like you a little BVS creeps in when I see the rotating west opponent thinking well they'll probably have a historic season. :p

I know that. Doesn’t nullify my point. Having them earlier with less returning starters, that’s less time for the team to get it together.

I expect A&M to be a Top 25 team this season.
I don't love the roster, but I expect them play like the 15-16 VOLS under Butch. Talent will win them some games, despite the dysfunction.

They will be a tough out.
Glad they are coming to our house finally.
We owe them a big LOSS.
That’s the one game outside of UGA and Bama that I’m a little concerned about. Home field should definitely help!

I choose to credit the culture built by Heupel and the players’ outlooks. Yep, my koolade is orange. It’s still the preseason until next Saturday.

Like Donte’ Thornton?

Thornton had plenty of playing time at Oregon. In fact, the Vols only received a couple of transfers from guys who had little to no playing time, and I don't think those guys are projected to have much impact for us.

Meanwhile only about half of the Gators transfers have a lot of meaningful playing time. I didn't bother to look up USCjr, but I would assume the same is true.

9/11/2001 game was moved to December 1st and they could not stop Travis Stephens ran for 200+ a great day for the Vols. Think Vols were # 4 & Gators #2 it was the defacto National championship winner to move on to the so called quarter finals known as SEC Championship as they said on TV. Vols were not to be denied that night 34 to 32 in the Swamp.
