I'd be interested in your views on this.

Please try to set aside your personal feelings regarding the merits or lack of same regarding capital punishment.

I'd like to know if you believe this sentence is appropriate outside of your views on the death penalty.

According to reports, as character witnesses were testifying that he still wants to kill Americans, Moussaoui was nodding his head affirmatively.

I honestly believe that sentencing him to life is giving him the death penalty. He will either attempt to kill other inmates or guards, and he will be killed in the process OR he will just be killed for being so anti American. Our prisons are chalk full of individuals who are not all that fond of terrorists, as ironic as that sounds.

Seems to me that he is a dead man either way, but I would rather die by leathal injection than have the hell beat out of me by a bull queer.

Not to be a cop out but I can't say if it was the right verdict since I don't have all the facts and I didn't see the case against him.

He definitely needs to be isolated so that he can inflict no further harm.

I'm pro Death Penalty, but I think this was the right decision. The guy is being denied his ultimate goal . . . martyrdom.

i think he should be tortured to death. give some of the families alittle peace of mind, let them watch if they want.

I found it strange that the jury found this not to be a factor in their decision.

I think life in this instance was right because it did deprive him of his stated goal.

Those virgins will have to wait.

I have a feeling that watching someone get "tortured to death," would upset any balance of peace in one's mind for the rest of their life.

You're entitled to your opinion, and I understand the sentiment . . . but given your ripping of Bush for creating worldwide hatred for America, I find this a little ironic.

You apparently esteem Bush more than you do America, since W is the only thing you felt was proper in that whole sentence.

And, back to the torture issue Smoke. You ever heard of "Cruel and unusual punishment?"

Look . . . I'm not saying anybody's opinion is wrong. I just think that whether the jury considered it or not, it was in the best interest of the country for Moussaoui to not get hung in the middle of the town square.

At this point that would seem a little counterproductive.

he helped kill 3,000+ people i will get over it and sleep well tonight.

But, invading Iraq to get rid of Saddam Hussein is wrong in your mind??? Hussein killed 100 times as many people...

they have in sudan to, but we didn't invade. they were also not americans. i'm not saying saddam was a good person, i'm just saying if it wasn't a oil country it wouldn't have mattered to W.

in my opinion no. he made to many other reasons. no other countries besides us and england were to worried about it. thats right, all the other countries had business deals with iraq. here's a thought maybe W was mad he couldn't join in. W's two main arguments 1) saddam had WMD 2) war on terror. neither really amounted to much.

Can we please try to stick to the topic at hand? Nobody wants another Iraq thread.

So, in your opinion, it is wrong to go to war with a country if you have 'too many reasons?'

Also, find a news database, and actually read most of the remarks Bush made concerning Iraq, prior to our invasion. He based as much of his reasons for attack on UN Sanction and Treaty Violations as he did on the possibility of WMD. I would post articles for you, but, you apparently never trust any of my sources.
