Good to see the Vols at the top (and Vandy at the bottom) of the SEC standings right now. Wonder how long it'll stay that way though.

To avoid being one of the posters that only comes around when we lose, I have to say that this is the team I expected all along. They are moving a lot on offense, that are playing well defensively, and they are getting each other open looks. I don't know why it always takes until after Christmas to get going, but if Martin can keep this up and get is a decent seed in the tourney, then he's all right by me
Usually they don't get going until February. It'll be amazing if we can get out of this month with only 2 losses. Since January is the hardest part of our schedule with having both UK and UF on the road. If we split either one of those than we are playing for a top 6 IMO. But 14-6 (5-2 SEC) going into February would set up nicely.

I agree wholeheartedly. I don't comment often on Martin, but this is what we need to see from this team to make me comfortable with keeping him as our coach. Credit to BTO and the others for keeping their faith in this staff.

I have always been in favor of waiting to assess CCM's performance at the end of the season, and it looks like this team should be able to deliver what we all want to see.

Any sort of guess what our rpi would look like if we won out? Regular season and then how much higher if we win the SECs?

Unless I'm wrong, if we won out and won the SECT, we'd be a #1/#2 seed probably, because that would imply multiple wins over Florida and KY, with one of those being in Rupp, on top of being regular SEC and tourney champions, as well as being labelled a "hot" team, which we all know is far more important.

There's approximately a 0.2% chance of that happening.

Thanks. I was just wondering what it would look like from a "wild speculation" standpoint, for a team with two ugly losses and two so-so ones.

Personally, I think IF that is a definite IF we play at this level, we should not lose more than 3-4 games in the SEC regular season. This team has a defense that can keep a game competitive and if the offense continues to click, it is formidable.

Go vols. Also go Elon! Someone had them winning the SOCON.

I watched most of the Bama/Candy game last night. It's really disturbing how many fans showed up for their SEC opener. Not that LSU was much better.

The Vandy part is easy. They aren't good.

Vandy only had 7 scholarship players last night. Their leading scorer, McClellan, didn't make the trip to Bama. It's being rumored he has flunked out and will miss the rest of the year.

Holy ish if true. Stallings team has been dismantled, he lost his top 2 or 3 returning players prior to the season already.

Yes, he lost 3. Two transferred and one got booted for a year. Johnson will be back next year. For them to even be in the game with Bama shows me how weak Bama is this year. If we don't win down there this year we might not ever win there again. We always have trouble down there it seems.

Yea Bama is the most disappointing SEC team IMO. Grant is gonna be in danger of losing his job if they don't turn that thing around real quick.

Wow that's a big jump. I was expecting it to drop 5 maybe 10 spots but 18 spots is downright huge. I wonder what it might get to if we win these next 2?
