Not sure what all the raving is about... yes, it's an above avg horror film but I wasn't blown away by it. Overall, the whole film just seems like one big metaphor regarding how STD's can seriously ruin one's life!
There were some good moments and the sound track is an awesome throwback to 70's and 80's horror classics, but the scares in this one seems to rely too much on the jumpy "gotcha" moments; not true horror IMO.
The monster/thing was menacing, but wasn't scary or frightening at all. Even someone with avg strength/intelligence could overcome this thing's attack. The only real terror is the dull burn of the character knowing they would never rid themselves of this thing (Gonorrhea, cha cha cha)
Acting was okay; nothing jumps out as huge positive or negative here.

pretty much agree with most of this, though I would disagree with you on the bold. the camera work, editing, tension, and soundtrack, were all pretty huge positives.
I agree with Dallas. The vast majority of super hero movies are horrible.
