Moving to knoxville?

I bought(with 2 other people) 300 acres+- below Kingston near Midway School. It backed up to a Mtn. We sold it in 6 tracts, the last one in 2023. 3 of the buyers were from California.
At least you didn't bust the land up into tiny lots. I always hate to see a farm or big piece of land subdivided then suddenly there are 500 houses where there used to be a pretty, working farm.

I’m 33 and my wife and I are in a similar boat.

I grew up in Memphis, but I have a lot of TN pride and we’re looking to Nashville, Knox, and potentially Chat.

The wife is partial to Nashville, but I’m more partial to East TN. We’re both in agreement that Memphis is not where we’re planting our lifelong roots and we’re getting out.

Where are you thinking? If i had infinite money I'd be in Mountain City Johnson county hanging out but knoxville and the suburbs seem best for work so I'd love to be 20 to 30 mins out of there.

A lady when I worked tdot told me maynardville was the place of beauty near knoxville and commutable, hell I'm used to 1 hr for Walmart anyway this is 40 min to downtown probably less to the north end

I grew up in the Nashville area and lived in Knoxville for 26 years before moving to Jackson this year for a job. I have lived in all three grand divisions, and, for me, East Tennessee is definitely where it’s at. I miss it. A Lot.

i probably couldn’t afford to move back, though, at least not where we were. As has been mentioned, Californians who are used to crazy real estate prices are coming to Knoxville in droves. The family that bought my house in Farragut paid cash.
