'20 MS ATH Jimmy Holiday (UT SIGNEE)

What does Lamar Jackson have to do with anything?

Look, if y'all think that this kid is a D1 passer, feel free to be wrong. I had this same argument with people about Jauan Jennings when he was committed. They insisted he was a QB and I said he'd be a WR or DB...not because I'm an expert evaluator, but because it doesn't take an expert evaluator to see that Jennings wasn't a D1 passer and neither is Holiday. Holiday's high school film reminds me of Emmanuel Moseley's...who also played QB.
Hi

Three words. Tim Te Bow

Or he could be instant impact as a slot or RB.... maybe even DB.
No doubt. But if he wants to play qb and wait for his opportunity, he certainly has the potential. Would just take a couple years to fix his footwork and mechanics.

Oh yea, that literally screams he'll be the starting QB at UT in the near future... 🙄
Most likely the qb of the near future is JG. Then Bailey. Doesn't mean this kid won't get a shot to compete and develop.

The quote literally states no pt was promised. He was promised a shot to compete at qb though.

I think it's fair to say, Holiday is going to be a very dynamic play maker somewhere on the field for Tennessee.

My guess is he will give us a lot of highlights and high fives over the next few years at whatever position the coaches put him in.

I think wildcat is the wrong term bc it implies the QB is not a threat to throw. In my head it’s occasional and would be more RPO with Holiday. And you couple that with a target like Washington with a frozen linebacker who is peeking in.
I’m just giving you a hard time lol. I think it has its place but for the most part i hate it.

Was he promised how long? He'll practice at QB for a while, realize HB is better, then go play WR (with the exception of some wildcat QB).

Honestly, I don’t care. A guy like that can play multiple positions.
He may be able to play multiple positions but what will he excel at, Return Specialist, Wildcat QB, Slot WR? Are you envisioning a Kordell Stewart type?

Tennessees version of Kentucky's Bowden?

JMO, more likely in the first year or two, he will be used mainly as a red zone QB. We weren't good in the red zone this year, and with JJ and M Calloway both leaving, my speculation is that Chaney/Pruitt are open to a different alignment in the red zone and short yardage.

I’ve said it a couple of other threads, but I like the idea of bringing in speed and athleticism, and then find a spot. Ala Jimmy Johnson at The U.
Tons of corners.....move slower ones to safety
Linebackers .......slower ones to d end
HS QB’s.......qb or receiver or db.

Guys with thin ankles and round butts......JJ said that, not me.

You run the wildcat when your offense is ass.
Lots of teams run the wildcat to keep the defense off balance. You know it's just another play in the playbook. It's not gonna be Pruitt's offense----you know that.
