You mean the biggest stage, because he's already won an SEC championship, a playoff game, a Rose Bowl and a Sugar Bowl, which are "big" stages.
They've generally lost to Bama, who has had the # 1 recruiting class like 8 of the last 11 years or something and beats everybody. Kirby's got a terrible haircut and he's a d**k but he's 52-14, he's a pretty good coach. No reasonable person I know of has ever argued Lincoln Riley or Ryan Day are terrible coaches. The difference between the 3 guys is that Lincoln and Day have lost to Bama and that great LSU team in the playoffs and Kirby lost to them in the SEC championship, because he is the only one of the 3 actually in the conference with them.A million 4 and 5 star players but still cant crack a playoff except for the 1 yr they lost in it. Its what yr 6 or 7 for Kirby? All this despite being the coveted Summer National Champs every one of those years.

And they’ve been blown out at least once every single year under Kirby. In fact, their last 3 losses were all blowouts, and then add to that their loss to pitiful SC in 2019 also. Nobody does less with more than KirbyA million 4 and 5 star players but still cant crack a playoff except for the 1 yr they lost in it. Its what yr 6 or 7 for Kirby? It’s not really. We suck on the field for the majority of 15 years and YET we still find ourselves with a hat on the table. It’s not some conspiracy where other teams just want to rub it in. Kids still like Tennessee. All we have to do is WIN.These guys will keep going elsewhere until we do anything worth a damn.
The gap between Tennessee and the top CFB programs is more like a chasm right now.
I don't really care. We should continue to 1980 UGA fans until the cows come home, but there have been plenty of guys who took over good programs and ran them into the ground. Kirby is clearly not one of those guys, and he has improved what he was given, though as you say UGA was already pretty good under Richt.Kirby was already set up for success.
Never had to rebuild a program nor had to deal with the NCAA hanging over his head.
If he would have took a job like this one, he wouldn’t have near the success. That’s a fact.
I’ll say it again, I’m not impressed.
Dead wrong. Have to win on the field first. Competent coaching gets us back to 9 wins sooner than later. Hell it only took 8 wins for Pruitt to get a class rolling. If Butch could get 9, and Pruitt 8, then I’ll bet on Heupel doing the same and better. Recruiting will pick up just like it did for those two bozos. If you don't win on the recruiting trail, you won't win on the field. Flame away.
Relevancy is subjective…college football is becoming one of those sports where if you are not first you are last and unfortunately in Georgia’s case they only have bragging rights from back in 1980 still, but do tell us more about those magical 10-11 win seasons with no NC titles to show forAlways laugh at this stuff given that Branson Robinson hasn’t seen UT relevant in his lifetime.
Richt would've probably been in the playoffs 4 out of his 5 first years. He has a better record than Kirby when comparing their time coaching there. Richt never won a title. Neither will Kirby.Meh, you’ll find a way to downplay Kirby even after he wins an NC so it’s a moot point.
