'24 MS WR JJ Harrell (Mississippi State commit)

That's a Ludacris statement even for you,Wingo can go elsewhere 🤦🏻‍♂🙄....
We really need to land 1 of the 2 of Matthew's or Wingo or that's an epic failure...I'd take Matthew's 5 Sundays outta the month every time over Wingo but to act like we're set and don't need him is asinine.

Please explain how it would be an epic failure. People like you are ridiculous. You make it sound like recruiting is easy. Especially recruiting against the back to back NCs. What’s the staff supposed to do? All they can do is make their pitch and then it’s up to the recruit. Throw in the NCAA hearings and that makes it even more difficult.

I can see it now. If we were to miss on both Wingo and Matthews, you will make some asinine comment about the staffs inability to land them.

Don’t sleep on Webb either and squirrel will still be there next year we should get to producing nfl wrs almost every year…
Less certain about Webb but he showed something in the O&W fwiw. Was looking post-Squirrel because he’s certainly NOW with that status. Actually predict a better career than Hyatt with his headstart last season.

Webb showed that speed and agility on that nice sideline catch downfield.

Very excited about his development
Almost as if Heupel knows something about WR talent between him, Nimrod, and Leacock particularly. He can barely contain himself when discussing Thornton... so that's pretty exciting.

Do we know if the Thornton chatter of “not fitting in” was legit?

“First off, everyone is genuine people there,” Harrell said of his overall thoughts on attending Tennessee’s spring game. “You feel the love from the fans and people around Tennessee, and it makes you love the program even more. Secondly, Nico looked great today. I am excited he is going to be my first QB. He made some great plays. I saw that we have potential, and we can win a natty. We just have to keep stacking and keep the main thing the main thing. I enjoyed the visit. The fans and kids were showing continuous love. This is my home now, so I have to get used to it.”
“Basically, today, solidified even more that I am made the right decision,” Harrell told Volquest. “Just seeing everything the way I expected it to be before I committed, and it being all of that just solidified that even further. It was the same way, but it was even more love. A lot of people know me down here. It made my decision even more better after coming back down here now. The players, the coaches, and everyone down here loves me. Everyone down here is just so genuine. God led me to this decision, and he makes no mistakes.”
“I can say we have a father and son relationship,” Harrell said of Pope. “He cares about me on the field and off the field. He will get on me about my mistakes in everyday life as much as he will get on me about my mistakes on the field. That means a lot to me that he cares about me as not only a player but as a person. He makes sure that I am becoming a better person than I am the day before.” “No more visits, I am locked in,” the four-star wideout said. Harrell is actively working as a peer recruiter, and he says one of the key prospects he is focused on helping Tennessee land is Boo Carter.

I love to hear someone that is so excited to be coming in that they are peer recruiting. Helps put together a better team and gives them more of a chance to become closer as players. Teams that are tight knit tend to focus more on team goals over personal stats.

It was important for Tennessee to get JJ Harrell back to campus this past weekend. Harrell hadn't experienced a game day environment at Tennessee, and he enjoyed what he saw on that front even with the stadium only roughly half full. He paid close attention to Nico Iamaleava, who is a big reason Harrell has such a strong belief in Tennessee's future success and was impressed with what he saw. Other schools haven't quit here, but Harrell is not entertaining the potential of any other visits at this. He has set an official for Tennessee in June and plans to return for multiple unofficials in the fall.
