mizzou should have never been allowed in the SEC. their recent success was an anomoly. Not a great program.
NC State would have been a much more logical fit for the east.

Mitt Sue > Mizzou, 51-45 talk about misery!

Congrats to MTSU - first win vs. SEC since 2005 vs. Vandy.

Dang, my feed was 6 minutes behind and I didn't realize it. I had to double check that the game was over.

Mizzou administration is not going to put much effort into winning games until this current group that walk out is gone.

Missouri is terrible

This is not a tough 5 game stretch we are looking at. Even with all the injuries, 10-2 and the SEC East is very attainable. I'm more worried about Vandy than anyone else - that's quite a statement about what we have left.

Apparently you haven't seen the Vandy-TSU score have you?

Dear God the East is such hot garbage. If Vandy keeps struggling with TSU, this could be a laughably bad day for our division.

It's more (from what I can tell) they had a different coach - who was apparently really good for that level of program - and he was apparently the only thing holding them up from crashing back down to the same levels of mediocrity they had been at for 20-30 years beforehand.

But to the latter point: NC State shouldn't have been added and was never an option. Unlike A&M and Texas, NC State is actually tied into the UNC system - like 1/3 to 1/2 of its board are people selected to serve on it by UNC itself. There was no way UNC's people would vote to willing make a move that could harm UNC's own success by threatening that conference's security.

When it became clear the conference was going to expand, I was hoping Virginia Tech would get the invite to the East.

And for what it's worth, here in NC The Pack believe with certainty that their program belongs in the SEC.

Unfortunately Virginia Tech shot down the first rumors of interest immediately once they came out after A&M's acceptance and rumors of the SEC seeking a 14th team came out ...and then went out of their way a second time to publicly deny any interest once a second set of rumors sprang up later on.

I'm glad to here their fans feel such. Unfortunately, though, they'd have a bigger hurdle to overcome than others. While A&M/Texas was more a case of convincing little brother to leave big brother, with the way NC State's tied into UNC...it'd be more like deciding you liked someone'a arm and trying to rip it off of their body.

I don't think NC State would have been good for the SEC east other than padding everyone's stats in the win column. Beside Phyllis Rivers and running off Russell Wilson, not exactly sure what their recent football success has been.

They did manage to lose to Derek Dooley.
