If you guys would read carefully...the article actually says that he has called UT and we told him that we are not taking a QB in this class. FWIW.

Maybe I'm poor at reading, but i thought it said that Vandy already had their QB.

Yea, 6'0 and 180lbs.... It is just sad that UT and Vandy contacted him and he stood firm to his commitment only to have his offer yanked less than 2 months from signing day.... Now almost everyone has their guy so he will probably end up at a UAB, Troy, etc...

He may get to play more at those schools.

At 6'0-180 lbs, I doubt he has the size to make it at UT. I agree with a previous post on this thread. With a better offesensive scheme and coaching, UTK should have a solid QB already.

not a very classy move by Mullen.

But I don't think UT has any interest here. No need to bring in this kid to compete with Stephens and Coleman.

FWIW...I am starting to have faith that our QB situation will not be as bad as everyone seems to think it will be. I think the three QBs were very poorly coached and never grasped the offense. Under Kiffin and staff we should see an immediate difference and the reaffirmation that he can coach and that it was time to move in a new direction.

Yes that's the thing I was thinking along with a lot of others our needs does not include 5 Qb's we might just need a DT or two. Feel for the guy for sure but if we want to win agin coach must make thoes kind of calls.

What a #$%^, but if he doesn't fit the system then he doesn't fit the system. That is the difference in being a classy person and not. Kiffin did not pull either kids scholarship, but told them they might want to find a system that fit their style better. Kiffin>Mullen

Pretty lame if you ask me.... Very much different than how Kiffin handled Boyd and Petty.... Kid had been committed for 9 months!

He specifically mentions Tennessee in this article...

Scout.com: Mullen not to honor at least one commitment

Any chance we would be interested in this kid?

So Mullen should keep kids around on the bench for 4 years, when he knows that they don't fit his plan, rather than be frank and tell them that their best opportunities are elsewhere?

Lose the Orange Colored Glasses, what does being committed for 9 months mean? Even if the kid was a lifelong MSU fan, I doubt he'd prefer to sit on the bench in starkville than having a shot somewhere else.

It's part of a coaching change, i don't see what the difference is between CLK doing it, and Mullen.

Our word was no good period..... We offered they accepted, Kiffin should have honored. We get mad when a kid changes his mind...... Thats my take, just an opinion

Kiffin WAS frank BUT did not pull the scholly.... Mullen could have done the same thing thus placing the ball in the kids court.

Be blunt and honest BUT GIVE THE KID THE OPPORTUNITY TO STAY OR MOVE ON.....IMO.

I think he pulled it from Petty, but not Boyd. Because I think Petty would still be coming here. Didn't we tell him he wasn't good enough and take it from him?

People don't listen to me when I say the national perception of our program is very very down...

Everybody agrees our team is down. Some TCU fans opinion on our program means jack s*** though.
Who do you think wins a recruiting battle, TCU or UT?

People listen to it. They just dont agree with it. Down from where it was in the last 90's? Well, yeah, sure it is. But the recent coach search shows it is not too down. Kiffin and his dad coming would not happen at very many schools at all. And look at who Auburn was forced to hire. Our program is not that down when you talk to people who know what they are talking about (coaches, admin, etc). Some random know-nothing on a TCU message board might see our program as down. You are really going to give much credit to that kind of opinion.

CLK didn't pull the offers did he? My understanding was he told them UT would honor the offer, but you're not what I'm looking for. In other words you can come, but you may not get to play here. I thought he was straight forward enough to give these players a choice and tell the truth. Somewhat different than pulling an offer completely.
