Muschamp might be the biggest mistake at Florida

He needs to. Because this is as weak as we are going to be for the foreseeable future. If you don't break the streak this year it could get to 10, easily.

We all know that Dooley is on the hot seat. But how many games does Muschamp need to win this year?

Muschamp probably needs to win 8. I bet if he only gets 7 then he'll be on the hot seat, big time.

The total is important, yes. But who and how is just as important.

Win 6 but beat LSU by a couple touchdowns, he's safe. Win 8 but lose to Kentucky and Vandy ? He's out.

Lose to UGA for the 2nd straight year since 1989, he's on the hot seat.

2 years? Anything's possible but would guess thatit would be a very very short list of those fired after 2 years at a top shelf program when other personal failings were not involved. Can anyone name some coaches that were fired after 2 years only for on field performance? Sure they exist but I cant think of any..even stupid hire zook got a 3rd year.

BTW I called the 'Zook Rule' don't hire a coach no one else is even interviewing (or considering or hoping for) and now we've done it twice...irony

Well, then there's at least a fair chance that he will be on the hot seat, I'd say.

UGA is still the ultimate example of not living up to potential. Year in and year out, they underperform. And its so odd because you would think that school would demand to be in the SEC race every year. And yet they haven't managed to do that, and with all the talent they've had over the years.

Nonetheless, this year, above any other, may be the last best chance for a lot of teams to make up some ground on the Gators.

USC seemed pretty interested.

Or were you referring to Cuonzo? If so, I'm pretty sure there was interest around him from other programs.

I'd be surprised if Muschamp was fired at the end of the year but once Foley gets in his mind that things aren't working, he doesn't hesitate to pull the trigger.

Both Spurrier and Meyer took the foot off the gas their last 2-3 years. With Spurrier it took us 3-4 years to get back. I'm assuming the same this time. Only issue is whether Muschamp is Zooked along the way.
