What do you expect him to say? "We suck and don't have a chance in hell"? Every coach in the country would say what he did when asked.
I disagree. Many coaches with such a depleted roster would say. We aren't focused on that. We are focused on getting better each day, and we know the results will come if we take care of the process.
Not that it's a "realistic" goal for them to win the SEC East.
Muschamp just doesn't have the recruiting numbers yet. He has been scrounging up talent at an amazing rate. Muschamp has always been well thought of as a recruiting savant. He will discipline his team and have the defense playing over their head. Just has never been able to put together both sides of the ball.
There is a stubbornness about head coaches that are their strength and often their Achilles heel. To watch Driskel throw for over 4000 yards and 32 TDs at LaTech and Jacoby Brissett at NCS throw for over 5000 yards and 50 TDs only 9 int. in his two seasons says he had enough QB talent to make a better showing at Florida. Life is full of second chances and more so in college football. But this time, he has got to figure out how to coach the offense without screwing up the tempo and scheme. Muschamp needs to coach effort and accountability, get out of the way and let competent offensive minds do their thing.
Easier said than done.
Now you've done it again KB. Reader in 3, 2, 1....
Correcting his inaccurate statements are too easy. People know who he is. But when the season is clicking along and we're doing fine he will curtail his BS just as he did last year. With one caveat. I wouldn't be surprised if he gives all the credit for 120 success to Shoop. We'll see how it plays out.
Am I the only one that thinks Muschamp is getting a little ahead of himself. I am not expecting USCjr to be much better than last season, and I see them struggling to make a bowl game.

If I was an opposing coach, and a recruit was thinking about playing for him in any compacity (HC or Cordinatior), I would show his parents clips like that. I am not saying a coach should be like Fulmer and just clap when player makes mistake, but I am sure most would agree he is crazy!
Pretty much echoing want Tusk said. He can recruit on defense, and actually somewhat on offense(certain positions). He just meddles with the offensive side of the ball. If he can keep himself on the defensive side of the ball and let Roper run the offense they can be a somewhat decent team. As far as contending for the East? Not so much. It'll be UGA, UT or UF from the East.
I watched a interview with CWM.. He was asked about how the QBs are progressing, then asked if it would be he or the OC to decide the QB starter.. He said without hesitation, "oh, it would be me".. Then added, of course with input from the OC..
It's not that I disagree with him, it was just the arrogance he had when answering the question..
