I could see Mullen, but that buyouts pretty rough. I hear Urban is now stress free and entertaining offers.

Little late on this thread, but I believe Greg Shiano(sp?) would be a good coach for UF. No contract buyout, and has proven he can recruit and coach.

Since it was mentioned let me just say this, I do not want to see Chip Kelly at florida.

On the flip side, if Coach Jones and staff can't make it work, I'd take Chip Kelly at Tennessee :)

June jones would be nasty at fla. I don't know how well he could recruit in the sec. Built Hawaii, and had a lot of success at smu.

May as well keep Chump.

BHG would 60% occupied if either happened.

Freeze

Franklin

Gundy

Patterson

Bob will get his courtesy call for his raise.

Of those Freeze and Patterson scare me the most but are also least likely.

Franklin should be one I wouldn't want but I think he fits your fanbase and I'd love to see us whip him.

To be serious, I've always liked Gundy as a coach. He's done well at okie st. But the defense has always let them down. He would need a great dc. Patterson would be a terror. Out of those, I would hope fla chooses Franklin or Freeze. Freeze doesn't really have his offense together, but the defensive system is nasty. Is it the DC that should get a call? Something about Franklin makes me think he is not as good as the national perception.
I really don't think any of those will be the next hc at fla. They will probably go after big name after big name and eventually get someone off the radar at this time.

I'd likely regret it but I am in agreement that I think Franklin is a good coach but his hype is starting to exceed even his bloated ego. I do think he fits the UF fanbase better than any other.

I hope they keep muschamp forever.

Why we can't beat him, we can't beat who ever the F'n coach is. If I recall butch's opinion on his Monday presser after FL was, "it's just one game", so who cares, coach didn't mind losing to them. I'm all butch, GOVOLS !

I seriously doubt Gundy leaves OSU. Boone Pickens still loves the guy and when your primary cash cow likes a coach, it's likely he sticks around.

OSU is up and down, but they are still breaking in a new QB this year and we all know how challenging that can be. And their losses haven't exactly been to scrub teams. It would be a huge surprise if Gundy leaves. Not saying he won't be offered or interviewed, but I'd bet he stays in place.

This thread is going to get really good by Monday, because I'm betting that today is Muschamp's last day on the job.

Problem with Patterson is two things:

1) Tx guy

2) His OC will most likely be promoted to HC.

Like him as a candidate though.

I'm curious as to why Mark Dantonio's name never gets mentioned. I think that would be an excellent hire.

I agree with Dantonio. Why does no one mention David Cutcliff? He's an offensive genius and wins with less talent. He would bring in a top notch quarterback year one.

Because of his age which is dumb IMO. The last Duke head coach they hired worked out pretty well.
