Music at Vanderbilt last night

Early in the pregame it was no where near that loud.

The first time the band played Rocky Top when a group of players entered the field for warmups the volume increased greatly halfway through a hip hop song and stayed there the rest of the night.

The volume exceeded the capacity of the cheap sound system as the quality was very bad.

If they do that again in 2 years time, our band should be instructed to play Rocky Top as loud as possible through EVERY senior introduction and for their band’s entire pregame and halftime performance. Also through the spastic drop anchor ceremony

Why are they still in the SEC? They should be in Sun Belt or C-USA

Because $$$. Once they were in the SEC and later the $$$ for TV and Bowl revenue got rolling, they weren’t going anywhere. Smartest kids on the block, pick pocketing the rest of the SEC.

Am I the only one who found the music played over the speakers at Vanderbilt incredibly obnoxious last night. It was so loud that it covered up both bands and was played almost constantly. One Vanderbilt fan who was sitting near me said that last night it was much louder and played with more frequency than normal. He assumed it was done to drown out the Tennessee fans and band.

And here I thought it was just another lousy production by ESPN. I thought maybe they pointed their mikes toward the stadium and not the announcers' booth. The noise simply drowned out the announcers. The parts I did hear from that crew was all about food. That's the second time I heard that crew talk more about food than about football. Maybe the SEC could move a few games to the Food Network. Then maybe we wouldn't miss an 80-yard touchdown run while the network is showing pictures of all of their families.

Amongst the discussion the commentators we're having about dessert, my wife looked over asked "Isn't this the same crew that ate ice cream sandwiches on the sidelines earlier this year?"....yes, yes babe it was. LOL 😂

Wife & son were at the game while I watched on t.v. Not only was the canned crapola bizzare, it must've been horrific for those in attendance. It's true that the vandie "band" is wretched, but that mixture of Mexican bullfight trumpets, bad rap, jackhammer-like noise, etc. was truly pathetic. Typical for commode-doors. The officials were negligent in not addressing that artificial noise being played up to the snap when Tennessee was on offense.

It was even annoying watching the game on TV. Drowned out the announcers. I’m sure it was what they were trying for since their team sucks and they wanted everyone to remember this trash instead of what trash they put in the field.

everything you said is the reason I sat in my comfy warm chair with no bathroom line. The stadium is a nightmare for fans

On another note, did you notice it was only a pep bad at the game. I thought we always sent a full band and made vandy recruit from other colleges and hs to meet our size

Most SEC schools no longer take a full band to all games. They only take the full band when they are doing a halftime show, typically 1-2 games a year. Notice at Neyland we don't get a full band from most opponents.

Vandy has recruited band members from other schools for as long as I can remember. My cousin was in the Vandy band 20 years ago and he went to school at Lipscomb.

Timmy Trumpet is the popular thing right now at sporting events for some unknown reason.

We were sitting 10 rows behind the band and after one of our TD's the band director motioned for the person playing the music om the other side of the stadium to cut it so the band could play rocky top.
One of the songs played was one we play at Neyland, Welcome to the jungle
