I believe this is the reason I hate ND so much. Why every Catholic roots for them just because they share a religious affiliation is beyond me. I married into a Catholic family and attend the Catholic Church every Sunday yet my disdain for ND has only grown. As a Baptist I don't pull for Baylor simply because they're a Baptist affiliated institution.
